FBS high inspite of LCHF past one week

Dear All

I am following LCHF past one week. Earlier I took metformin and 16 units levimir insulin for one month as I was pregnant and doctor wanted to bring down the sugars. From March last week to April end I was on metformin and levimir. Unfortunately I miscarried in April itself. So in MAY, I took on to LCHF, stopped medications and Insulin. I heard that insulin causes weight gain and other side effects. Metformin also has side effects. So after 1week of complete LCHF, my PPBS is within 140 mg/dl. But my FBS started to rise and now its 207 mg/dl.

Any suggestions to bring down FBS? I dont beleive in allopathic medicines. I started taking one teaspoon of Apple cider vinegar before bedtime, and few fenugreek seeds.

sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I feel you should take the advice of your doctor and not stop medicines completely. I do not know what harm metformin has, because I had take them for 10 years, and I had no known issues then or now. Be positive and try to control your sugar with diet, try eating low GI food, exercise and of course with prescribed medicines . take care and be positive.

your diet looks good per the LCHF diet. But it is too early to get good blood results, since it was only for 9 days. you need to be more patient, and keep at it. What works for one, may not work the same way for another.

lavanya2015 ...Sorry to hear about your miscarriage and miscarriage is quite hard experience for a mother...so if you are extremely stressed then diet can not cover up for stress...so try to work on your future anxiety and depression from past events first...don't worry too much diet on this point of time...diet is almost good...body itself takes some time to recover from shock of miscarriage and return to the normal state...as all the hormonal activities are disrupted abruptly in between...give your mind and body some time to recover...relax for some time...do whatever you do to get a change for a while rather than focusing too much on diet...Learn to meditate ...go out and some outdoor exercises ...talk to people face to face :)..and don't forget to smile :)

God bless you

Some knowledgable member had reported that Insulin is better during pregnancy (than tabs) as tab molecules can pass the firewall of placenta but the other can't.

Please give time for the body &mind to settle down.
