I am diabetic since april 1994. I mean tyle 2.

My primarily question is are there differences in lab readings as compared to glucometers(accuchek).?

If so ,why?

Thanks

My own experience .. i test with contour TS glucometer .. readings are 99% correct.

It is better to take your meter to laboratory for calibration

I tested with same blood taken at the laboratory and my glucometer simultaneously and found 10 percent difference. I use accut Activa.

In glucometer, whole blood is tested for glucose. But in the lab, blood plasma is tested for sugar. Hence there will be differences in the blood sugar results.
