Weight reduction with diet

* Avoid single high concentrated meals.

* Small frequent meals.

* Food high in fibre content like vegetables, whole pulses, fruits, etc.

Ideal combination of diabetic diet should be:--

Carbohydrates: 55-60%.

Fat: 30%.

Proteins: 15-20% (0.8g /kg /body wt).

Fibres 40 g/day.

DIABETIC DIET

Do not eat at all:--

Sugar, jam, syrups, honey, sweets, chocolates, fruit juices, ice creams, cold drinks, glucose drinks, cakes and pastries, sweet biscuits, puddings

and protein powder with sugar.

Eat in moderation:--

Bread, chapatis, oat porridge, cornflakes (No sugar), Cheese, butter, Noodles or spaghetti, macroni, Thick soups, Milk & milk products, Chicken,

lean meat, fish.

Take unrestricted:--

* Salads (cucumber, tomato, onion, raddish, salad leaves).

* Vegetables (cabbage, baigan, lady fingers, french beans, methi, palak).

* Fruits (except banana, chockoo or mangoes).

* Sprouted beans and pulses.

* Marie biscuit (with less sugar).

* Clear soups, Lemon juice, Buttermilk

An ideal diet is low in carbohydrates, controlled and moderated fat and protein; vegetables and fruits a plenty; and red meat, dairy

and bakery the least. Most bakery items contain High Fructose Corn Syrup. (Lays, Curkure, Oreo, Coco cola and other aerated drinks). High Fructose Corn Syrup is a concentrated form of sugar, fructose derived from corn. It increases body fat, cholesterol and triglycerides and it also makes you hungry.

Adopt DASH diet (Mediterranean diet). Eat a low-cholesterol, low-fat diet, which includes cottage cheese, fat-free milk,

fish, vegetables, poultry, and egg whites. Use monounsaturated oils such as olive, peanut, and canola oils or polyunsaturated oils such as corn, safflower, soy, sunflower, cottonseed, and soybean oils. Avoid foods with excess fat in them such as meat (especially liver and fatty meat), egg yolks, whole milk, cream, butter, shortening, pastries, cakes, cookies, gravy, peanut butter, chocolate, olives, potato chips, coconut, cheese (other than cottage cheese), coconut oil, palm oil, and fried foods.

Brisk walking for 30 minutes daily will bring down your sugar level.

Diabetic education is also necessary to avoid diabetic complications.

Hello sir. Please. You are posting ada ama aha diet which has failed miserably to reverse / reduce the incidence of D.

Please correct your facts. I'm sorry there are many advises which i have refuted very often.

I am not quoting from ADA, AMA, and AHA. The source of information is from Practical Prescriber By GOLWALLA. MD, FACC, FCPS, FCCP., Emeritus Prof. of Medicine, GSMedical College and KEM Hospital, Mumbai and SHARUKH A. GOLWALLA MD, (Med), DM (card.), FCCP.

(Vide ISBN No.978-93-80206-22-6.)

I wish to go with majority of medical professionals and I do not want to be a party of medical controversy.

Please note that the prescribed diet has to be modified according to requirements of diabetic patients without causing hyperglycemia.

You may follow whomsoever you want but they are following ada aha ama recommendations which have failed miserably. It's not following majority but following the science and logic here. We all have benefited a lot with the changed logic. That proves that our logic is scientific. Let's all think away from others. All whom you quote are acting as parrots of ada aha ama. Let me present my / our views with regard to your post.

1) "* Small frequent meals." That keeps your exhausted pancreas busy for ever. 2-3 meals per day is recommended here. IF also.

2) "Ideal combination of diabetic diet should be:--

Carbohydrates: 55-60%.

Fat: 30%.

Proteins: 15-20% (0.8g /kg /body wt).

Fibres 40 g/day."

55-60% carbs are very risky for us. At the best 20% and less than 100g per day complex carbs. Lesser is better.

Fats 60% or more. There are many who take 75% fats and are doing very well.

Recommended Fruits too in moderation.

3) "Eat in moderation:--

Bread, chapatis, oat porridge, cornflakes (No sugar), Cheese, butter, Noodles or spaghetti, macroni, Thick soups, Milk & milk products, Chicken, lean meat, fish."

Cheese butter fatty meat and fish should be taken liberally and not in moderation. Bread chappati, wheat and refine flour items etc to the minimal possible. Better avoided. No to bakery.

4)"Adopt DASH diet (Mediterranean diet). Eat a low-cholesterol, low-fat diet, which includes cottage cheese, fat-free milk fish, vegetables, poultry, and egg whites ". Please review. High good fats and full fat milk. Fish and poultry liberally. Egg with yolk.

5) Use monounsaturated oils such as olive, peanut, and canola oils or polyunsaturated oils such as corn, safflower, soy, sunflower, cottonseed, and soybean oils. Avoid foods with excess fat in them such as meat (especially liver and fatty meat), egg yolks, whole milk, cream, butter, shortening, pastries, cakes, cookies, gravy, peanut butter, chocolate, olives, potato chips, coconut, cheese (other than cottage cheese), coconut oil, palm oil, and fried foods." This is a reverse advice the doctors are recommending but have caused more harm than good. Yes bakeries and potato chips are to be avoided. Co vco ghee and evoo are prefered oils.

If the advises of the doctors were correct and scientific we would have been benefited and wouldn't be here.

Thanks for your patient hearing.

🙏🙏
