Get HbA1c test done. The result will give the average sugar level for past three months. The result will confirm whether you are a diabetic or not.

in reply toramana42

Hba1c is 6.4 and ppbs 150, fbs 137 and uric acid 7.2

Treat yourself as if you are on notice.Play it safe and take all precautions as if you are a diabetic.Firstly,do not get stressed up,because that may aggravate your condition. In your place,I would place weight reduction as top priority, slowly but steadily by 5 to 10 kg.

Fasting anything over 125 is diabetic according to doctors

Vrindha profile image
Vrindha

Anything above 125 fastening in two time test within one week is considered diabetic check hba1c if it's below 6.9 you r pre diabetic anything above that is considered diabetic also check fbs and ppbs on same day

If fastening is more and ppbs is Gud then take v less carbs food at ngt and give minimum 2 hrs time after dinner Bfr sleeping

"high but not considered diabetic" what does that mean ? You are diabetic. Yes. You can pull back down with diet management but you have to take care of diet for the rest of your life.

Which type of food I consider

Hba1c Upto 5.6 normal

From 5.7to 6.9pre diabetic

7 and Above confirmed

Vrindha

Hba1c 5.7 converts to estimated average blood glucose 117

and 6.9 converts to 151

if we take his FBS 110 (which is 132) then to get average151 be sure he must have spiked above 190.

spiking above 180 will make kidney to pass sugar in urine...

Is it prediabetic???

That is really wonderful news Vrindha

But spiking above 180 and passing sugar in urine is prediabetic???

However,on 14th jan 2016 My Hba1c was 13+ and now last time(about 3 months ago) it was 5.8.

If other health parameters like (BP/cholesterol/thyroid/liver/kidney ) are within normal limits.....

May be you are case of high insulin resistance.... may be you are diabetic or prediabetic doesn't matter...

these are just words..and mere satisfaction of yourself...

Whatever....your body has given u alarm....and if you do not listen this time...you may land up in serious trouble...

and if you want to live long healthy life... best option is to cut your carbs...reduce consumption of fruits... increase good fats...walk as much as you can...

and be sure...within 6 months you will find over all improvement in your health...

My FBS 137 ,PPBS 150 ,Hba1c 6.4 ,,uric acid 7.2 , height 171 cm , weight 84 kg constant, what can I do right now

You are a diabetic

Consult a Dr

He will start metformin

See which other tests to be performed as a base line assessment

Adopt low carb diet . Inc proteins and some good fats

This will keep you in normal numbers

The best way to find out is to have your HbA1c test. it gives you an average of the last 3months in terms of sugar level... I am diabetic too and sometimes fbs could be affected by the food you ate the night before or due to some other reason, (ex. you felt hypo then you took a bit of sugar... that could lead to a spike) I am not a doctor, I am speaking from experience...

in reply toChitoF

Hba1c is 6.4 and uric acid is 7.2 my doctor said I'm not diabetic , he prescribed only for uric acid medicine

To me diabetes is so complex.

Diagnosed diabetes during Dec or Nov 2016. Diagnosed pee diabetes during first half of Jan, 2017. And now, as per lab, free of diabetes.

Now I'm enjoying life. Checking doesn't make sense, but listen to your body what it tries to tell you silently. Good luck.

Blood sugar level is always fluctuating. Hence 2 or 3 blood test results are required to confirm diabetes mellitus.
