If you can take milk kefir first thing in the morning atleast 2 months/ 4 months with slight restrictions ,you may not further need diet restrictions .
I am using it since 2.5 months.Without any allopathic medicines it is under control,The complication arises earlier shown improve on the day it completed 2 months.It gives overall improvement.

Add 1 kg CHANNA floor (brown gram very easily available at ATTA grinding shops) to 4 kgs +- Wheat atta , have ONE chapati in the morning for breakfast and same FOR LUNCH AND DINNER, in 15 days you will see A CHANGE. Channa Atta chapati is heavy and filling, you may not WANT another one.
