Coconut oil, with around 90% of calories from saturated fat, 65% of which are MCTs, has been lauded as an ideal fat for cooking, ketosis, and prevention of metabolic and cardiovascular diseases. So we’re not saying coconut oil is unhealthy – just that it may be overhyped, and is too often recommended without simultaneous recommendations to eat your friggin’ vegetables.

I always say, moderation in everything...u cannot overdo anything....be it carbs, fats or proteins. Eating little less would serve the purpose with mindful eating and proper choice of foods with lot of fiber. High fat diet lack fiber which is a doom for our gut and metabolism too. I read whole article for which link is posted above and it made me realize how excess fat (MCT or butter or whatever good fat) or fiber-less food can prove disastrous to our health! Eating more vegetables can be beneficial in any disease.
yes. We have to supplement fibres. I'm on grain free diet for last 2 odd months and my worry was my gut health. But i added flax seeds ( powder and seeds), isabgul and salads in my diet. Esp flax seed powder twice daily and seeds post meals twice daily. Also dry fruits and of course vegetables and legumes and sprouts. Oh. There are lots of fibres esp for veg people. Keeps away from constipation and gives lots of vitamins and antioxidants.
suramo one more thing....constipation is problem faced by many when they shift on low carbs...and problem they associate with fiber contents of food....
But guess what??? the best remedy for this is very simple.... just add two spoons of ghee in hot water gto drink the same before going to bed at night....so guess its not fiber but gut movement i guess....
Constipation has two aspects. One related to bulk formation and the other related to intestinal / bowel movement. There are two types of medicines. Laxative and purgative. The first class of medicines makes the stool movable e.g ghee as cure suggested but many need a little purge also. The purgatives irritate the bowels and make them move. We may have to take both like isapgul and haritaki. High potency purgatives like castor oil or abhyadi modak - nepalo should be avoided as they make bowels weak after their prolonged use.
Abhi aapne nabj pakad li. Yes. That is what i have been saying. First know IR and bcf and then decide if to go grain free or 30-50 -100 g carbs. The people like me have to be grain free for whole life.
yaar why have we to look to west when we ourselves now know more. You and i can testify that. This is what i have always been telling that anybody can write anything on net. Even paid articles. Yes these companies have to hire "experts " to run their business. Legally compulsary. Now they are doctors or a pharmacy graduate. These gyus have to write what their masters say. Let's all trust ourselves rather than fake studies and studies on animals. Many times such studies cover only one aspect beneficial to those who sponsor them.
I am really happy for suramo ...he was always sad about his BCF.... I am sure at next check he will show more BCF.....
For Hidden 4.8....I was sure.... he is determined... and also ready to take benefits of every thing available....being south indian (rice based diet) I can just imagine his determination to avoid rice...
he is really a wonderful example...
I am sure soon @suramo will also be member of your prestigious club of 5+
Planting nehru as PM against the decision of all 12 congress committee present at that time was the first corruption of independent india. But nobody can speak even today. Was the person who did this under some kind of commitment ? And planting an ineligible incompetent person has created many grave problems for this country. We lost 1/3 kashmir and 62000 sq km of land called Aksai chin. Who should be considered responsible for these losses in addition to hundreds and thousands of lives lost and there is no count to how much money we have lost.
oh...she is lady in white saree now days.... don't know uske maike mein wo kya pahanti hai....idhar india mein toh bechari ko white saree hi pahani padti hai....
let's wait for a month or so. I will get all my reports done. You can suggest me all the reports that i should get done. We will learn from that if bcf improves or with reduction in fbs insulin too reduces.
Sorry if i may sound sadistic and pessimistic but i would like to analyze the results of shashi. Please forgive me if i seem to be hurting your feelings.
1) IR is 1.64. good but not the best.
2)S chol 206
3)ldl 150.
4)Hdl 36
I'm not happy. Shashi's lipid profile is not satisfactory. IR also high. Need further caution.
Sorry shashi if i have discussed your reports on this forum which perhaps your would not have wanted. 🙏🙏🙏
my lipid profile has always been good. Perhaps good genes from mother. Her angiography at the age of 82 showed very clean vessels. Not even 1% blockade of coronaries.
there is c peptide test suggested for diabetics... I guess c peptide test is useful ony for type1. For type one those are not on insulin shots..you can suggest .c peptide or Direct fasting insulin any test (which one is cheaper)

From Linus Pauling in His Own Words (edited by Barbara Marrinachi) we learn that Pauling contracted a (usually fatal) kidney disease when he was forty, but after learning that most patients died from the standard treatment (then high protein) he huddled with a Stanford Professor/MD and developed a different therapy (low protein). He survived, but his wife began giving him a multivitamin pill daily. It wasn't until age 60 that he learned the value of high-dose vitamin C, and as other posters have noted, went on to live 30+ more years.
Also, if you read the latest Hickey/Roberts book (CANCER: Nutrition and Survival lulu.com/ascorbate), and our cancer forum, you learn that while vitamin C can be toxic to cancer cells, it is a relatively weak cancer killer. High blood concentrations must be maintained, and adding Alpha Lipoic Acid (and/or VItamin K3) greatly amplifies vitamin C's cancer killing power.
askdrwiki.com/mediawiki/ind... of structure parameters is based on a fasting plasma sample, and it is derived by use of the insulin-glucose product, divided by a constant: (assuming normal-weight, normal subjects < 35 years, having 100% β-cell function an insulin resistance of 1)
HOMA-IR = [Glucose] * [Insulin] / 22.5 (Glucose in mmol/l)
HOMA-IR = [Glucose] * [Insulin] / 405 (Glucose in mg/dl)
If your sensitivity is 200% (ie IR is 0.5) and BCF turns out 60% that doesn't mean you have only 60% beta cells left. All it means is that they are working at 60% efficiency because of increased sensitivity.
More confusing @anup why beta cells are working at 60% capacity when BS is still elevated???
I agree BCF just shows the secretion of insulin...
But then...problem is some where else....is it leptin signalling???
you may be right but we can't discard lipid heart theory. Let your B do that. Reason is the people with familial hyperlipidemia. If untreated they die of cvd/ chd in forties and fifties suggesting some connection between lipid and heart. Also don't say it's a different class. We are just talking about the relationship.
We as D produce more ros. So more damage to our body. Blood vessels are feeling more damage because they have to bear the brunt of cardiac pumping. So we require more repair. But the repair should not be exaggerated. Let's believe that we should keep our lipid profile well within the suggested limits until proved otherwise. I see no harm in that. Anup kuchh to hai ye lipid ki theory mein. Also obese people are more prone to get heart attacks and that too heavy. Jains and swaminarayan people don't eat garlic. I have seen the end of their lives in first attack only. Garlic has effect only on ldl both qualitative and quantitative.
any extra fluid is cleared by kidneys. Triphala is more of a purgative than a bulk forming agent. Only fibres can increase the bulk. Yes extra fat act as laxative.
Well, we all know that coconut oil is also substitute other fats to human. In addition,by giving coconut oil for your dog orally, coconut oil can be applied directly to your dogs coat and skin. See more about the products! amazon.com/Coconut-Oil-Pets...
Traditionally it is said no vegetable fats to fed to the dog....as it will affect his skin and coat...
Further feeding Biotin or biotin supplements gives fantastic results if you want the luster on coat...
A simple remedy: Add mixture of 50% Soya oil and 50% cod liver oil 1/2 tea spoons in dogs food... (depending on size of your dog) will give u shine on coat..
Using ground flaxseed, oil and capsules are relatively safe, but there are some caveats:
As mentioned earlier, dogs who digest whole flax seeds will likely pass the whole seeds undigested. This renders their nutritional aspects null and void, which is really just a waste. This won’t harm the dog or cause any health concerns, but it’s something to be avoided nevertheless.
Again, dogs don’t easily convert ALA into EPA and DHA which means your dog doesn’t benefit from it, like she would if it were a fish oil.
nobody can definitely say what are my chances of having chd/cvd. I never understand the claim made by researchers that with particular drug or therapy the chances of xyz disease reduced by x% . The people get MI even when all the reports are WNL. Firstly there is nothing like normal reports.
Yes probability but for the given value of say ldl or hdl if particle size is small the numbers are going to be high.
That is a very good article by dr attia. That is what i have always been saying that if our medical system gets organized we can know if the inferences made are correct or needs better understanding. We have to believe always in what these people are telling whereas we have large no of patients and our database can be unlimited.
