Interesting . In homeopathy '' Beriberi vulgaris '' is used in urinary infection. Could there be any connection between the two . Beriberis vulgaris gives very good results even in severe and acute cases also .

It is the same and I `ll surely try it for my type 2 cure , optimistically hopeful. because I found the other homeopathic remedies very effectice in this regard.

Berberis aristata/Daru haridra is well known herb in Ayurveda....And same is avilable in India easily at very cheaper rate.

I think the thread is taking us to a wrong turn.
BGR34 just came into discussion and not being recommended.

We don't know the long term effects on various organs of our system
IT"S NOT BEING RECOMMENDED.
Just came into discussion & many have tried & stopped it including me & we should prefer diet control method.

If Berberine is same as turmeric, what way this is different than "Raw turmeric powder"?
If I take some turmeric powder along with milk before bed time, will it have the same effect of Berberine. (Just a layman's question)

Both are different
But you can add up turmeric milk at night
How I take:
1/2 glass full fat milk with malai. Add 1-2 teaspoon haldi powder. Add a teaspoon of ghee. Also some sprinkling of pepper powder. Heat all and take it

our regular haldi is curcumin longa ....ambe halad is curcuma amada.
The effective chemical in haldi is called curcumin .
Haldi is procured from rhizome of the plant.

They designed a study to provide scientific evidence for the use of Berberis aristata in the treatment of urinary troubles caused as a side effect of the anti-cancer chemotherapy drug, cisplatin. Cisplatin is known to cause nephrotoxicity which is a renal disease or dysfunction. In conclusion, the researchers found that the side effects of cisplatin were reversed by the antioxidant properties of the decoction of root bark of Berberis aristata.[9]

as it was suggested to suramo best way to consume curcuma species....through out the year...pickle them in season...when it is available at cheap rate..
Oil in pickle increases bio availability of curcumin .
These both are all together different plants....no similarity...
Confusion is made only because both are called haldi/haridra...
But botanical names are different..not even same genus.
There is same confusion about kalounjee...many ppl think its seed of onion ......
but absolutely no connection between both...
As botanical name of kalounjee is nigella sativa.
Where as botanical name of Onion is allium cepa.
Both are different plants all together...
And funny part.... botanical name of garlic is Allium Sativum.....combining both plants
But no connection at all between all three

Then what about Harithaki ' my grand mother used to praise it saying that it is the best and king of all herbs . Her father was an Ayurvedic doctor .

If are referring to bgr34 then just to mention that I used to take but now stopped few months back.
Hba1c of 5.3 on lchf and metformin 500mg bid

Daru harida or tree turmeric or as in tamil mara manjal is different from Berberis Vulgaris. In India, I have come across Berberis Vulgaris only in Homeopathy format. India has its own list of Ayurveda herbs & many reputed companies selling products with different combinations. None of them will cure diabetes if diet & physical regime are not followed.

Yes , as far as my knowledge goes , Berberis Vulgaris is different from Daruharidra.

As daruharida is known for ayurveda for many centuries...the use of same is very restricted....
But one thing you will notice that effect of daru haridra is on liver...hmmmm so safest thing we can opt is consume same under supervision of experienced ayurveda doctor.
Again....if it is liver....why not give a try to new castle experiment???
By the way....BGR 34 tablets do contain daruharidra. which available at Rs 5/- per tablet.

Yes . BUT he said 'Beriberis vulgaris ' which is used for urinary infection . @ CURE mentioned in his post that it is Beri beris Aristata '' which is different .Daru haridra is of course can be used for diabetes . But I didn't hear that it is so efficacious in diabetes . Any way it can be used if available . The problem with Ayurvedic medicines is we have to follow strict rules regarding diet and many times we don't get reliable medicines as so much of adulteration is taking place in the process .
Is it available in tablet form , not BGR34 , ---- Daruharidra ?

THANK YOU . All my homeopathic books which I got from my father are by European authors only . I donot have Indian books on ayurveda and so i do not have much info on the herbs except a few herbs.

Some one guess akil or some one suggested some homeopathy remedy for diabetes....
You may look at same...I guess it will work....
ofcoz it is like umbrella treatment just like BGR34....it includes almost all homeopathic medicines useful for diabetes.
I have seen some miracles with homeopathy.
But guess what??? One of my friend....who himself is Homeopathy graduate....and excellent in Homeopathy...is suffering with diabetes....and finding himself helpless.
But look at suggested medicines by him....guess they will work.I just have reservation about murex suggested by him....

CUREDIABETES i Follow the principles taught by my uncle who was a very good homeopathic doctor . He never accepted the generalised cure and diseases like diabetes according to him should be treated on individual basis .But like they say , information is wealth and knowledge is power . So I want to gather as much information as possible with respect to diabetes .Thank you very much . I think , if your friend takes a constitutional medicine , he would get rid of the problem , instead of going for the medicines suggested by the homeopaths in books . Beriberis vulgaris really is very effective in urinary infections . In case of diabetes I never tried .

I think it is immaterial whether male or female , but diabetes caused by some mental suffering and sorrow , phosphoric acid gives relief . As far as Murex is concerned , just because it has got the symptom of polyurea and excess hunger , it can't be prescribed .

If a patient has calcarea carb constitution any number of medicines would not give relief unless a couple of doses of calcarea carb are given . Thus first the constitutional and causative walls have to be knocked down for getting an effective cure. Sorry if I have taken your time with unnecessary details .
