Muscle cramps for diabetes

One clarification needed. While diabetics who are High Carb & Low Fat eaters do not lose sodium and potassium (they urinate frequently and in large quantities), LCHF dieters do lose these electrolytes and do get muscle cramps at night disturbing sleep.

I am not sure about that. Because, though I am not mostly on the LCHF diet, I used to get leg cramps at night. It was diagnosed as due to the intake of statin (certain statins).Changed to a different one, and it was gone.

So, my question is are you taking medications for cholesterol?

Any other opinion, and if you differ please post.
