Many skin conditions are manifestation of diabetes specially type 2. Please get a complete evaluation of your physical and diabetic condition. Keep a record of it. It will serve as base line reference for your case.
You are confirmed diabetic. There is no cure for it as of now. First step is don't start worrying that you got diabetes at such a young age. Nowadays its common for young generation also. You can control it very well if you follow healthy diet and life style modifications. Eat less carbohydrates, stop eating sugar in any form. Eat lots of fiber-rich vegetables. Reduce your weight by 10 Kgs. I was able to bring back my sugar levels to normal with these steps. I am also 29 years of age, so these steps should help you to control your diabetes.
Hi RahulG,
Let me ask you few questions first. If you have the following symptoms you are either pre-diabetic or diabetic.
1) frequent urination
2) tiredness
3)Numbing or tickling
4) Frequent sleep paralysis
5) feeling very thirsty all the time
6) Sudden weight loss
From your HBA1C, it is very clear that your condition now is Impaired Glucose Tolerance (IGT). So please control well your diet and do plenty of exercise from now onward. 90 kgs is pretty over weight for a 5'9 30 yrs old guy. So why dont you start exercise and do good diet control. Definitely you gonna be alright with next HBA1C test. Stay healthy ... GOD bless
Rahul
You seem scared and it is natural to feel that way but don't be scared. We live in times where plenty of information is available along with lot of resources. Based on the information you gave you are a confirmed case of someone who has a metabolic disorder called Diabetes. I am not a medical professional so what I am about to write is based on knowledge I have gained over the time in an effort to manage my own diabetic disorder.
Diseases like flu or cold can be cured but diabetes is not a disease, it is a disorder. Unfortunately once it kicks in there is no cure. With diet/exercise and medicines (if needed) it can kept under control. All of us need a certain amount of glucose in our blood for the body to function properly. Typically when we eat, more sugar is released into the blood stream which is followed by other processes in the body which remove the excess sugar and store it away. When the body is functioning normally the amount of sugar in your blood remains within acceptable limits set by the medical standards. When a person develops diabetes, the body is unable to remove excess sugar from the blood like it used to.
1)The HbA1c is a summary of how much blood sugar has been in your body over the past 3 months. It is a more accurate measure of how well your body is metabolizing sugar.
2)Most likely your doctor would want to see you once every 3 months going forward and test your HbA1c along with other blood tests. Talk to your doctor, ask questions. Do not be shy of asking questions.
3)Do take the medications your doctor prescribes and measure your fasting and Post-meals blood sugar regularly.
4)90Kg for 5'9" is overweight and you need to get it down to about 75Kg at least.
No offense to others here but don't jump on a particular diet bandwagon. If you can afford it work with a nutritionist who can look at your medical data and plan your meals and food intake.
5)Exercise which involves use of muscles helps reduce insulin resistance. You don't have to get into full body building exercise routine. Look into core strengthening exercises, cardio and interval training.
6)I dont want to give you a long list of bad things that would happen if you don't control your diabetes. Just know this that it can get pretty worse if you dont take proper action. but work with your doctor and mostly work with your ownself and you will be able to manage your diabetes.
Good luck.
