No medicine for diabetics controlled by dieting and exercise. On heavy food consumption blood sugar goes up while checking with one touch gluco meter, for which I take gliciphage 250mg. I do walking in the early morning for half hour and after dinner at night for 15 mins.

Cut down CARBS. Many diabetics of around your age and with 20 years history of diabetes live on LCHF now and have far better numbers on far lower or ZERO drugs. More on LCHF diet here -- dlife.in/
What is this marginal diabetes. Nevertheless if you are keeping your blood sugar within limits with whatever you are doing. Please do not change it.
It is your life, It your health and decision will always be yours.
I think taking a tablet when ever sugar level shoots up due to heavy meals is not very advisable.Controlling blood sugar needs much more discipline and effort.I am a diabetic since more than 20 years and I am sharing with you my experiences as under.
Diabetes is a metabolic disorder which is a result of the pancreatic gland in
our body either producing little or no insulin or the body has developed resistance to insulin. In both cases, the body cells do not receive the glucose needed for production of energy because insulin is essential for glucose to enter the cells. This results in the blood sugar levels to increase beyond acceptable levels, though your body cells are starved for glucose. This condition is very bad for our well being and over long term may result in severe complications.
Controlling blood sugar levels is a tough job but it is not impossible if you realize that everything is in your own hands. This is so,because though you may get good advise from doctors and dieticians,it is ultimately Y O U that will have to take all the necessary steps to successfully control diabetes. I am giving certain general suggestions which you may consider and adopt based on your personal choice.
Diet plays a very important role in managing diabetes. You should reduce intake of foods that are rich in carbohydrates like sweets, rice, wheat, other grains ,potato, beet and other root vegetables rich in starch. You should eat more of vegetables, sprouts, greens and salads that give you lot of fiber, vitamins and minerals. Each meal you take should be smaller but you may have 5 or 6 meals instead 3 meals a day.
Exercise is very important to control diabetes. Daily brisk walking or jogging for at least 40 to 60 minutes is ideal. Such exercise will consume lots of energy and sugar levels come down accordingly.
Mental stress aggravates diabetes. Lead a stress free life by adopting relaxation techniques like music, meditation, yoga and breathing exercises.
Consult a diabetologist and get prescribed for medication if necessary and comply with the doctor's advise scrupulously.
Please remember that the most important person in managing your diabetes is Y O U.
Kash Kp very good advise given by Venkataramana as he is on diabetic for 20 years his expereince also mentioned It is good for your health I am also T2 from 20 years and controled good manner my HBA1c is 5.8
U may also test HBA1C and also lipid profile and kidney functontestand electrolytes and ECg also at an early date
The diabetic is not curabl but controlable by healthy life style.
For begining within 1,2 or 5 years it may be controlabale without medicines also
But pro long periods like me and Venkataramana itn is difficulr to control without medicines
For using low carb is very good for controling Blood sugar mainly the grains contained heavy sugar more than 70-80 gms per 100 gms of grain
u must select the food from very low carb and also adjust your graintaking by testing yourself in Glucometer.
I am also doing this type.
For consuming protein excess is damages the kidney function and albumin will found in urine fATS MAY not digest easily for the MOST people more than 55 years
fOR functions heavy meals is arranged but you should learn how to eat in function
I am vegitarian In function I consume firstly dals veg palys and very small quantity of rice and using curd and rasam only Iwill leave all sweets
Further my latest blood test result to be posted in separate discussion
Kindly give in detail about LCHF food. Look I take fish twice a week. No meat of any kind. Morning bfast four slices of wheat bread with pea nut butter.Noon time rice and mostly dal/sambar and some leafy vegetable. Night for dinner two medium sized chapatti with some subji. Also after dinner one or two fruits are taken.
As for medication, GLYSIPHAGE 250mg was prescribed by my doctor one tablet in the morning. Usually I test blood sugar once in a week and or after a heavy meal.
Your comments and advice on these are welcome.
I understand your experience with stress related issues. One thing about stress is that it builds over a period of time and from one level to another higher level over a period of time. So,it can only be reduced in stages over a period of time.I do not consider yoga and meditation are a hoax since it depends on who is leading you in these efforts.May be you will be successful if you change your approach.Another point I would like to make is about meditation.Generally meditation is attempted by sitting in a quite corner in a calm pose, closing the eyes and try to control the thought process. You are supposed to be free of any thoughts, even for a brief period. But I have a different perspective on this because there is no way you can make your mind free of any thoughts and for this reason, generally people consider meditation is not for average people. What I consider a better approach is, what is called "constant choiceless awareness".It means, you are constantly aware of what is happening inside you and in your surroundings. What ever you observe, you are not judging it but being just a witness to the happenings.Once you are aware, you will act or react as per your values, your tendencies and aspirations and values. You are not carrying your that particular experience forward and over a period you will attain that stress free mental equanimity.Think about it,do not take my word on face value.I apologize for being long winded.
