Blood pressure
Lifestyle changes can help you control and prevent high blood pressure — even if you're taking blood pressure medication.
Here's what you can do:--
* Eat healthy foods.
* Decrease the salt in your diet.
* Maintain a healthy weight.
* Increase physical activity.
* Limit alcohol.
* Don't smoke.
* Manage stress.
* Monitor your blood pressure at home.
* Practice relaxation or slow, deep breathing.
Adopt DASH diet (Mediterranean diet). Eat a low-cholesterol, low-fat diet, which includes cottage cheese, fat-free milk, fish, vegetables, poultry, and egg whites. Use monounsaturated oils such as olive, peanut, and canola oils or polyunsaturated oils such as corn, safflower, soy, sunflower, cottonseed, and soybean oils. Avoid foods with excess fat in them such as meat (especially liver and fatty meat), egg yolks, whole milk, cream, butter, shortening, pastries, cakes, cookies, gravy, peanut butter, chocolate, olives, potato chips, coconut, cheese (other than cottage cheese), coconut oil, palm oil, and fried foods.
The risk of heart attack, stroke or kidney failure if you have got diabetes mellitus and hypertension. More over you have got abnormal pulse pressure. (165--70 = 95 mmHg.) Hence you should consult a doctor and take medicines without delay.

to be honest i am speaking with my experience HBP has to be controlled with Meds but Good Diet helps and if you are Diabetic patient then u need to monitor both very strictly so i suggest you should go n visit a doc for HBP and HBS and make a chart of readings well for Sugar i am not on meds i am LCHF diet which even helping for BP but then its pure matter of perspective get some good slow cardio exercises ( walks / brisk walking ) u will find the difference with readings since i was on meds for hypertension for 8 years it never used to come down but cutting down carbs from my food has bringing BP down to some levels i am trying to reduce the meds for it too so try to keep BP under 130 / 70 with or without meds but its very important .
You have not mentioned your age. if you are around 55-60 165/75-80, should be good enough. As you grow older, BP control needs some mild medication, in case you are a diabetic. Let doctor prescribe you the correct medicines, as there are types and classifications of BP controlling medicines.
