Hi All,

My Fasting Sugar was 117 and 2 hours after it was 257 and HA1C was 5.9 in November 2016. My Dr. gave me medicine and sugar was 110 after fasting and 147 after 2 hours of breakfast and HA1C was 5.6 in December 2016.

I started walking minimum 1 hour daily and loose 4-5 KG in 3 month.

I again check sugar 2 times in March 2017 after having food. 2 hours after it was 89 first time and 91 second time. I went to test after not having alcohol at least 3-4 days.

Does having alcohol for 3 days says Monday, Tue, Wed and go for sugar test on Friday shows high number of glucose in blood?

Also my blood pressure is 130/80 today but it was 120/80 in March 2017. Any Help or suggestions please ?

I am 34, Male.

Alcohol will affect BG Numbers .

Alcohol will affect liver dumping , so alcohol cause HYPO .. So Having Alcohol in one way reduces BG level because it stops liver from working ( DANGEROUS) ..

Liver Dumping Glucose to body ( to maintain BG levels in range if glucose goes low ) is also one of the reason why we see Raise in BG levels in Diabetes apart from CARB Intake.

So , Alchol Stops Liver function hence no Glucose from liver and BG level will be Low but DAMAGE done to LIVER from Alcohol is MUCH MUCH Greater Threat than having High BG Numbers .

Dont Take Alcohol for few days prior to Test ..

Here are some other ways that alcohol can affect diabetes:--

* While moderate amounts of alcohol can cause blood sugar to rise, excess alcohol can actually decrease your blood sugar level -- sometimes causing it to drop into

dangerous levels.

* Beer and sweet wine contain carbohydrates and may raise blood sugar.

* Alcohol stimulates your appetite, which can cause you to overeat and may affect your blood sugar control.

* Alcohol can interfere with the positive effects of oral diabetes medicines or insulin.

* Alcohol may increase triglyceride levels.

* Alcohol may increase blood pressure.

* Alcohol can cause flushing, nausea, increased heart rate, and slurred speech.
