Hello All. Kindly suggest a good digital automatic bp monitor which gives correct reading and u had used that.

I have been using Citizen model CH-432B automatic digital BP monitor since last many years,still working fine.

I am using ACCU SURE Automatic BP Machine since the last 5 years and working very well. It was confirmed by my Doctor also.

Thanks.Iam using diamond automatic bp monitor. It was showing 104/71 while doctors was showing 120/80.

There is a 'white coat' syndrome. Some people get more stressed out being at the doctors and the blood pressure can go higher at the doctor's office, but be better at home.

I uses OMRON BP 742N 5 Series blood pressure machine ,as per its manual BP variation measured on this machine can be 2% - or -,and Pulse measurment may be 5% =or-. One should take at least three measurements at the intervals of 5 minutes each and calculate the average of them.

Most ideal time for BP Monitor in the morning is one hour after awakening and in the evening it is one hour before sleep .

Most of these machines gives up to 7$ errors in the measurements Ideally one should get it checked with conventional ( Mercury Type) and Stethoscope.

However mercury type monitors are now banned in Europe and replaced with digital or Mercury free called LED

Thanks. I was not aware of taking 3 readings with interval of 5 min.I use to take only 1 reading in morning ,noon and then night. Please tell is it essential to take 3 readings? And interval should be 5 or can be more or less in 3 readings? And I take reading in morning within 10 min I wake up. And 1 hour before sleep in night.

Yes. As soon as possible after we wake up in the morning. That's our basal bp. Any activity thereafter causes release of hormones and influence the readings.

One should take 3 baseline readings on different days before stamping as having hypertension. But this is a general rule. If someone is having very high reading in the first reading then no need to wait and should start taking treatment.

Iam having hypertension. So I take reading everyday as I mentioned. But please tell is it necessary to take 3 readings with 5 min interval and then take its average. Not possible cos don't have that much time in morning. So 1 reading is sufficient or not?

One reading is fine once confirmed hypertensive.

Thanks a lot . iam taking reading 3 times a day I.e morning noon and night . should I make it only 1 tym that is morning? Is it sufficient? Or two tym morning plus nyt? Or 3 tym? Please guide.

Initially you have to take frequent readings like 3-4 times a day to adjust the drug dosage. But once that's fixed you taken to take readings infrequently and randomly. Bp is not a static entity but a very dynamic one. So it's unnecessary exercise to take multiple readings. Also bps taken on both the hands at the same time also are different. Don't be very much obsessed with readings once the drug dosages are fixed. If you have some medical problem then doctors might take frequent readings.
