G M Diet

G M diet is recommended for reducing bodyweigt by 5to 7 kgs within a week.This was introduced by General Motors company for its employees and was found very effective,it is reported.This diet plan is for 7days.On the 1st day only fuits and water is given.Next day only vegetables and water,thrd day both vegetables and water.There will be changes in the remaining days.I can give the full regimen if anybody is interested.But I want to know whether this safe for dibetic persons

  • Weight would climb back up again very quickly. Crash diets never work and that has been my personal experience. As you start lowering calories for reducing weight, body starts lowering metabolism in defense. 5-7kg/week is also never advisable approach, specially for a diabetic on drugs.

    Same applies for LCHF opponents. There's a lot of money at stake a far as so called Nonsensical diet -- HIGH CARB LOW FAT -- is concerned.

    You don't even have a penny's worth of knowledge as far as LCHF is concerned because as per you all FAT is passed out through URINE. There can be nothing more LIMITED and FACTUALLY WRONG than this. Why not respect Dr Bernstein, he definitely has more knowledge than your limited knowledge. 150+ diabetics right here on this forum are proving you wrong day in and day out.

    BTW, all diets are being professed by doctors only, including LCHF. These doctor have results to show which defy entire ADA/AMA/AHA's nonsensical diet. It's not pseudo science just because you do not have the capacity to understand it. It is REAL science, a SCIENCE which reduce reliance on DRUGS and thus ensures good health.

  • My dear sir may I request you to give your suggestion in a polite manner and not rudely. Please do not quote and give reference of your degrees. We all are experts in one field or the other. I have observed you are very harsh in your posts. What you gain out of it is best known to you.we hon our valuable experience of the members and follow only after due consideration of our intellect only and not go by what every member tells. I am on LCHF diet since 14 February and my sugar levels improved and skin texture also improved and glow started appearing on my face. Medicine dose also reduced what else I need. You do not like LCHF diet this does not mean those who are on LCHF diet are following blindly no it is not the case. I have benifitted from this diet. All super specialist who told me not to have fat have failed to advise me properly. They only preach what they have read in their degree course and believe it to absolutely correct no they are not. If my words have hurt you in any manner am very sorry but let us be more wise. Life is very short let us enjoy it king size even being a diabetic .

  • Dear med free earlier I used to feel tired.on 25 July I drove my car from Amritsar to hisar which is about 350 Kim's non stop and at the end of journey I did not felt tired. Again on 27 I came back to Amritsar by car an not felt tired. I really benifitted by LCHF .i feel we should share our personal experience and not simply quote our degrees. Degrees are just theory taught in colleges and universities. Where as personal experience is practical and that is more convincing. My wife had a brain tumor the specialists could not diagnose for four years. She was loosing sensation in legs and pain in back bone . She use to fall on one side. These bloody specialist gave her medicines for pain in back bone and pain in legs. They flooded her body with all sorts of pain killers and with that she developed other ailment. They were treating her by error and trial method and we can't open our mouth. Finally we went to an other bra in surgeon he took another MRI nothing was found. To our good luck he ordered contra t MRI and tumour was found. She operated by gama knife surgery and now 65 percent recovered. Many of these doctors have so called quota seats in medical colleges and some how pass out and start practice and ruin the life's of many. I feel my self lucky again that LCHF have come to my rescue.     We on LCHF are a special breed of diabetics. We are bashed, questioned and thrashed by those on the other side of the fence. However, we enjoy great numbers, good health and with every success that gets posted here i feel it is better as that will motivate a lot many others to wet their feet and start enjoying good health, better numbers on LCHF.

    As for doctors, if i go to a new doctor, I tell him very bluntly, I will question you a lot so please don't accept me to swallow whatever you write. A doctor prescribed 100mcg levothyroxine for my wife's thyroid problems. I asked him why 100 why not 50 because TSH is only around 8. How do you arrive at 100mcg. He quickly corrected to 50. I asked him about Armour thyroid tabs and he gave me a blank stare saying what's that. These are experts in endocrinology with flashy degrees.

    I put her on 25mcg and her levels are normal. So, these guys are just pushing DRUG sales. I have told her to follow the dhaniya method that you had shared. Let's see how things turn up in next test.

    I hate indiscriminate use of drugs! I even avoid painkillers, one of the nastiest thing on earth.

  • IN G M diet you are not required to starve.You can eat as much as you require,but only the specific food item earmarked for a day.You can drink water at least 10glass.After 7days you can return to your normal diet.Iwanted to know only if it is advisable in the case of a diabetic.

  • Normal diet does not meam high carb diet.You can eat in moderation with an eye on weight.

For diabetic patients all Doctors advised eat complex carbonate and use flenty of fruits Soured avoid banana and Mango and jackfruit Ues more vegitables except Beetroot and potato Whatever u eat u may take some limited quantity toavoid starving use lowcalories food like cucumer tomateo and ( Avalakki or manakki which meant from biled paddy) go on walk at least 3o minutes be active.

    Generally thereis no difference between ordinary peoples and BS peoples Bs poersons should avoided a mximum of Direct sugar that is sweets made from Ghee and Sugar

    But all most o Doctos advised to use limit quantity of Fat items that is Ghee oils and mainly high fat content food because Diabetis patients has also most chances of HBP and heart diseases. Totaly complete examinaton and to take good advise from Specialist Doctors is useful

    For fasting for one or two daysgood by using only liquid food and vegitables and fruits. in which for liquid food hot milk may be used without using sugar other wise allliquidfood andfruits and vegitables tobe cold forbody therefore to make body heat use hot milk and do so much active by limited walk and limited excercise. otherwise 7 daysdiet u may loose 5 or 7 kg but the lost wt. is regain as u are starting daily routine food from7 days because the body is like a spring if u start food then it take much food so daily routine food is so good and it may be so limited.   • But, on LCHF diet LIPIDS get fixed. Diabetics have High BP not because of FAT but because of Sugar. Dr Bernstein eats only 30 grams carbs/day. That's extreme version of Low Carb High Fat Diet. So, FAT doesn't raise cholesterol and BP. CARBS Kick up TG which is one of the primary drivers of IR. Oh Low carb High Fat diet, HDL goes up, TG comes down so IR improves, cvd/chd chances reduce.

    Eating complex carbs (like whole grain etc) and still staying on High Carb diet is like a cancer patient smoking Marlboro instead of Charminar.

  • The high fat of LCHF diet does not approve to everyone. Even peanuts can be taken upto 50 grams only which would satify a bird. For people with lipid problems, high fat does harm.

  • You are wrong about FAT on LCHF. 50 grams peanuts is ~300 kcal roughly 15% of total calorie requirement of 2000. So 50 grams peanuts cover 15% of calorie need with ~10 grams carbs. People on STATINS have gone of STATINS right here on this forum. I don't think any of the 150+ who are on LCHF here have reported their LIPIDS go haywire. In fact LIPIDS improved and many went off dangerous STATIN DRUGS. LIPIDS will go bad on High fat with Carbs also high.

    That said, have you ever lived LCHF diet? Or you are just talking what doctors yap? Or is it that your LIPIDS so so badly conked off already on High Carb Low Fat nonsense that there's no point of return?

    100 grams+ peanuts+almonds+walnuts will cover around 600kcal with 70%+ energy coming from FAT. Oh yea, doctors will say don't take peanuts because it will raise BP. All wrong. LCHF diet is based on 60%+ energy from FAT 20% max from carbs. All those who followed here haven't reported LIPIDS going bad.

  • My last lipid profile was a pass according to that chart. Anyway the Doctor said to see him after a year. So I dont see why I should not follow his advise.

    Doctor Bernstein was an MD with remarkable diabetes success. I suggest that one should get and read his book. On chapter 10 page 138 and page 150 he mentions the importance of a restricted Carbohydrate diet. One can eat more items than nuts for a vegetarian.

    Are you a Doctor/MBBS. Is that why you call yourself Medfree?

  • National Institution of Nutrition a premier research institute of ICMR- A Retired Scientist sells funu fiber because he " says people don't know how and when & what quantity of MENTHI TO be taken'' But Even this controls BS to some extent subject to diet restrictions. What is wrong if some body controls this with LCHF

  • I am presentimg the detailsof GM diet for the kind consideration of all appearing inthis forum.

    Day 1-Only fruits are consumed except banana.You can eat any quantity of fruits and drink atleast 10 glasses of water.

    Day2-Today is the day of vegetables.The day starts with a boiled potato and a pinch of ghee.For the rest of the day one can consume any amount of vegetables either cooked or raw.At least 10glasses of water should be consamed.Water melon is a priority item today.

    Day3-Today one can consume both vegetables and fruits alternately,of course as much as you need and

    plenty of water also..

    Day4-Today you can drink 3glasses of milk without sugar and bananas,not more than 8 bananas and water as usual.

    Day5-Today a cup of rice together with 6tomatos can be taken.Vegetable soup also allowed.Quantity of water should be increased so that uric acid is washed away.

    Day6-Today also a cup of rice is allowed and plenty of vegetables without coconut and oil.No potato today.

    Day7-The concluding day,one can use one cup of rice,vegetables,either boiled or raw and vegetable soup.Fruit juices also allowed.

    Plenty of water shold be used on all days.Liquor and smoking shoul be avoided during the diet days,but tea and coffee without sugar and milk can be used.In addition club soda and lemon juice are also allowed

  • The diet may be useful for weight loss but not for diabetes. There is nothing but mostly carbs in the diet.

  • Fruit mono (or even a mix of fruits) meals can be highly dangerous for diabetic. Non diabetics can handle anything. Even 5 cans (or more) of coke a day.

  • GM diet is prescribed for weight loss for over-weight persons.When weight is brought to ideal level it becomes easy to control diabetis

  • Many diabetics could land in the ER right on the first or second day if they are given freedom to eat as much fruit a they want.

  • Diabetes disappears completely when one reduces weight to just set of bones. BMI is a useless number because it is "Correlational" and not "Causative". Doctor Bernstein is dead against pancreas whipping drugs.

    BMI is a useless number unless you talk of Body FAT, which you never do perhaps because UCLA doesn't! Body fat in Asians is not the same a in Westerners even for same BMI, making the whole talk on BMI even more useless here.

  • You are a perfect case to switch to LCHF diet. Search LCHF on forum and google.

    Maybe few High Carb professors here will want you to reduce your weight further and start starving, but on LCHF no starving needed. Drugs reduce, sugar levels improve, health improves.

    High Carb Low fat diet kills a diabetic slowly and steadily. Drugs are never the answer for Diabetes. LCHF Diet is!

  • There are 3 types of pesons slim body medium body and fat body persons. Generally slim persons whatever they eat it digests completely morethan 90 % therefore . Slim body persons cannot became fat or medium body persons at the extent of 99 %

    Medium body persons if they eat restrictly and maintsaining diet system they may became slim until they continue the diet and excercise and other activities. If any activities like excercise diet proper eating is not done by these peoples they beame morefat than what they decreases.

    Fat persons their body system is whatever they eat 90 % or more absorbs ther body hence possibility of became slime is difficult. They may consult with Doctorsand dieticians for further treatment.
