Oats can be consumed by a diabetic patient in moderation. Those who have celiac disease (sprue) should consume oats with caution due gluten allergy.

A DIABETES PATIENT (also known as A DIABETIC) need NOT starve. PROPER or APPROPRIATE food can be eaten EVEN FULL STOMACH THRICE DAILY! Try to understand diabetes & conquer it like me.

With in 100grams of Atta per day, you can make 4 chappatis. Take one chappati for the breakfast, two for the lunch and one for the dinner. with salads ,curd, tea & coffee one can manage low carbo diet with in 100grams. Do not miss your one cup of milk before sleep. Five almonds & five walnuts could be taken. Peanuts are also very good and you could take it as snacks.

It is perfectly fine when I take low carbohydrate & high Fat diet. My sugar levels are also fine Fasting it is 80-90 mg/dl and PP is around 140-180 mg/dl, but I feel weak with the diet despite adjusting my Insulin dozes. I eat 5 almonds and 5 walnuts and take a few marie biscuits and also take a cup of milk before I go to sleep. When I get up in the morning & check my sugar level, I find my fasting is always perfect in between 80--90 mg/dl. It gives me great satisfaction that my Fasting is very good but PP is not regulated is between 140--200 mg/dl.

I will seek advise from others one this site as how to control & regulate PP. I feel with low carbo diet , very weak and I get chakars. I am scared of getting Hypoglycemia and take two spoons of glucose before it happens. I take Januvia 50 mg after lunch to keep my PP under control. It is not happening?

The text below is a "COPY&PASTE STUFF" from my previous replies to some others.

IF YOU HAVE ALREADY SEEN IT, KINDLY IGNORE THIS. Otherwise read CAREFULLY.

You too can EVEN cure your diabetes yourself like me.

TAKING MEDICINES ALONE WILL NOT BRING DOWN BLOOD SUGAR ALWAYS. THAT IS WHY PATIENTS ARE FORCED TO MOVE FROM EXERCISE TO DIET CONTROL TO LOW DOSE TABLETS TO HIGHER DOSE TABLETS TO INSULIN INJECTION AND COMBINATIONS OF THESE. YOU HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR FOOD HABITS & LIFE STYLE ALSO TEMPORARILY TILL CURE.

Diabetes is a fundamental disorder. It is comparable with low voltage in an electric circuit. In both cases all connected subsystems will under-perform and will fail in due course. It will affect SEX life also, if diab is not contained. Diab impairs the glucose (SUGAR) & oxygen supply to ALL CELLS of the patient. You cannot compensate the resultant weakness with liquor, food or medicines.

While following the Long-wheat diet explained in the article referred below, non-vegetarians can have MEAT/FISH/EGG in moderate quantities as side-dishes/curries.

I was diabetic from 2006; but NOT diabetic from 2009. I studied Diabetes thoroughly, because it was to solve MY problem.

Do you want to see my experience and blood sugar history from 2006 to 2013? Those are reported at: appropedia.org/Diabetes_mel... If you want only HOW TO DO, GO TO appropedia.org/Diabetes_mel...
