What are the long term effects of taking medicine for diabetes.

As you know,all medicines have some side effects.A diabetologist will check annually for kidney and liver function.In addition they also check various other parameters like creatin,albumin,lipid profile etc.They enquire whether you are feeling any discomforts particularly in the digestive system or dizziness etc.Based on these the doctor will advise you.

If you don't mind what are the specific medicines you ARE REFERRING?

1. Mother: 83 yrs. a.) Telma H 1-0-0, b) Ziglim plus 1mg 1/2-0-0, c) Deplatt 75 mg 0-1-0, d)Ditide 0-1/2-0 both BP and FBS was under control for many years. Due to swelling in feet, increase in Serum Blood Urea to 77 mg/dl and Serum Creatinine to 1.5 mg/dl and Serum Potassium to 7.0 mmol/l, CRF suspected and medication changed to a)Telma 40mg 1-0-1, b)Nicardia Retard 20mg 1-0-0, c) Lasix 40mg 1/2-0-0, d)Deplatt75mg 0-1-0, e)glimser 2mg 1/2-0-1/2.

2. Wife 52 yrs a) Glymser P2 1/2-0-1/2, b) loser 50mg 1-0-1/2. FBS and BP under control

what side effect may be caused to wife and what preventive care may be taken.
