Ya ayurvedic medicines do hep to control the blood sugar, and with very less side effect. But problem with ayurvedic medicine is that there is not strong control on drug quality, as in allopathic medicines, So each time U buy a medicine, its quality may not same, and dose may become insufficient or overdose ? Quality of dose is important. Further chiefly due to this poor quality control, one needs to monitor blood sugar level more frequently. Also the standardization of these medicine's dose is not perfect. So if u decide to switch on to ayurvedic medicines, keep in touch with the doctor. Better way is to take allopathic medicines, supplemented with those ayurvedic herbal preparations, which are not directly hpoglycemic, Avoid direct intake of bittergourd juice and neem oil/neem leafe juice, these are dierct hypoflycemic, that means these reduce blood sugar level directly in proportion to the amount intaken. Good Luck :-)

Due to lack of quality control it is not advisable to use Ayurvedic Medicines. At times these are risky. Use of quality Allopathic medicines with change in life style is the best course. Everything in moderate, regular walking and exercise is good. Be aware of Ayurvedic/or DESI TOTKE.

I have been taking 'Diabecon DS' from Himalaya for the last few years and my blood sugar level is under control. I check my BS level and lastly it was 157 mg/dl two hours after lunch and 115 mg/dl on empty stomach when measured on my Glucometer (One Touch Horizon). In addition to the above tablet, I take a teaspoon of fenugreek powder in water in the morning and at bedtime. I also do brisk walking for half an hour daily. The BS level is not at all static for anybody and does fluctuate, of course. So one has to do regular checking of the same. I do it twice a week.
