Hello, im new in this diabetes group (ive been active in thyroid group - have a nodule)

I was wondering although my result seems ‘ok’ i dont think im that ok because i read somewhere that thyroid nodule and insulin resistance are somehow linked. And i have difficulties to lose weight despite enough effort (lost only 1.3kg in 2 months) i know its because my struggling thyroid (tsh 2.7) but why is my doctor refused to test my insulin level? She said i should not worry my insulin is fine based on result below... is it really that good that i have to accept that im just over thinking stuff?

Im always sleepy right after lunch and its always below 100g of carbs (cant do keto because i need glucose for thyroid hormone conversion) i even do intermittent fasting (16:8)

And my cholestrol level is REALLY creeping up now at 6.2! im desperate to lose weight :( im 67.7kg 162cm.. doctor said im overweight and just simply ask me to lose weight. How can i if she refused to help me find the root cause? :( i only lost 1.3kg in 2 months.

Is there a specific test i should do to check my insulin level? Im willing to go to a private lab, i just need to be sure of the test name.. i only found 2-hr- glucose test and thats about it?

Thanks in advance for the kind help

IMHO, testing your insulin doesn’t matter. Whether or not it measures “high”, you still have to do the same thing. You have to “lose weight”. In my experience, it is better to focus on getting healthier and the weight will move in its own. Keto is far far removed from 100g of carb at a meal. Remove all sugar and high carb items from your diet. Eat real food the way it comes from nature. ( Hint: bread, pasta, and pie do not grow on trees) This will go extremely far in reaching your goals. Any carbs you may need should come from vegetables only. Don’t think about the numbers, they aren’t important to start. Also, start exercising in any way you can. No matter how small. This moves the glucose and changes your insulin status. You are not diabetic but if you are over weight you are almost undoubtedly insulin resistant; having a test or not doesn’t change that... and what you have to do to fix it.

Serum Insulin, C-peptide along with fasting glucose.

You are consuming very high amount(100 gm) of carb per meal. Limit it to 40gm or so at every meal. Energy deficit should be compensated with healthy fat.

your hbA1c may be towards the upper end of the normal range but it is still in the normal range, rather than the pre-diabetic or the diabetic range.
