Sometimes ignorance is bliss; Probiotic “Lactobacillus plantarum 299v”(a) is supposed to increase iron absorption, park_bear “...I always thought PWP have too much iron in their brains”. — I probably wouldn’t have tried if I remembered that (there are articles on the internet that agree(b) — at least one indicates dysfunctional iron utilization(c). I am not a strong reader or understander of medical jargon).
Day 12 of B1 break, Day 8 of 229v:
- I would recommend “Lactobacillus plantarum 299v”, if for no other reason than Mood Enhancement(d).
- Parkinson’s — I don’t remember a time (since being diagnosed) that I have had less symptoms. (Disclaimer: Last night I was up past my bedtime, I got sleepy and had balance issues for a few hours. This morning back to: I don’t remember a time (since being diagnosed) that I have had less symptoms — pretty well none.)
- I still have numb feet, my feet hurt with shoes on, I get up and walk it off; it seems to be getting better with each step I take — I speculate nerves are still healing from accumulation of unutilized iron.
- 3 days ago, I accidentally missed my midday dose of C/L with no “Off” (return of symptoms). So now I am only taking (1-1/2) 3 times a day (25% reduction in dose). You are not supposed to stop cold-turkey, but I wonder if that just applies to nonfunctioning neurons and I am praying that my hibernating ones have been woken up. (Are the hibernating neurons just in the brain or there they in the rest of the nervous system too?)
- I doubt if it’s the B1 break.
- I ended my last break at day 6 when my bad neck became unbearable (neck pain has not been a problem this time).
- Is it due to a single strain probiotic overpowering some harmful ones?
- I still occasionally have some tremor, but I am excited.
- Would this have happened if I hadn’t found success with High Dose Thiamine (HDT) a year ago?
- Should I end the B1 break?
- The box says supports regularity (I am having BMs, but not as regular as I was having with B1).
- Sleep: I am back to my normal 6 to 7 hours of sleep with B1 I had as much as 10 hours of bedtime, (4 hour of interrupted sleep and then up for restroom every 50 minutes. With 229v, I am unable to go back to sleep.)
- It could still be placebo? With the good Lord willing, I will accept what He wills. PTL.

(b) The reason iron is suspected is; iron is one of the metals found in autopsies of deceased PD patents’ brains.
(c) Link is on Traumatic brain injury (TBI), but TBI is suspected as a cause of PD and maybe the cause of mine. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...
(3) “conclusion, Lp299v, together with 20 mg of iron, could result in a more substantial and rapid improvement in iron status and improved vigor compared to 20 mg of iron alone.” pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/323...
Notes:
1) I have downloaded the Booklet from the following linked site. Interesting reading. [Benefits: Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Gastrointestinal infections, Iron absorption, Other (Gut-Brain Axis, Metabolic Health)]
“A disturbed GI microbial balance and decreased bacterial diversity have been coupled to mental health in several conditions (such as Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, major depression, autism spectrum disorders).”

2) I am taking (1) twice a day. “The Booklet says It has been re-isolated more than ten days after administration ceased.”, so less often should be sufficient.
3) The key may be leaky gut and less toxins in my blood stream — and iron has nothing to do with it.
