Added 1/26/24: I had sleep issues and had to quit 299v. I can’t rule out placebo, but sleep could also be B1 break (I was on day 4 of the break. I quit 299v on day 22 of the B1.) Could the effects of B1 being cleared from my body be responsible for any improvements and/or any problems? I believe 299v deserves another test. Not sure when, but I will trial again.
I take a multitude of things supposedly good for inflammation — after 12 days of taking 2 a day of 299v:
- Inflammation: I have a Sebaceous Cyst that is in a location on my back that is easily irritated, it has been getting larger for the last year; it was looking like I was going to have it surgery removed it. It is now getting smaller and isn’t bothering me.
- I am not taking any Advil (anti-inflammatory) for my bad back or my bad neck. I haven’t even had to take Tylenol for pain.
- “A healthy immune system recognizes and fights off illness and disease. Inflammation is part of that process. However, if inflammation persists over long periods of time — which might be the case in Parkinson’s disease (PD) — it can begin to do more harm than good.” parkinson.org/blog/science-...
“L. plantarum 299v is a probiotic strain of lactic acid bacteria... which can modulate the immune system. Its immunomodulating properties are observed among others in decreasing the level of anti-inflammatory cytokines... The results obtained from various studies show incontestable positive influence of L. plantarum 299v on human microbiome and overall body functioning, even in patients with serious health problems*... The lack of side effects... increases the value of this strain... because it... its non-invasive character. ” ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...
*For a NIH site to be that positive is very very rare.
