METFORMIN INCREASE THE RISK OF VITAMIN B1 DEFICIENCY?

Hi all been taking metformin for diabetes for years.....recently diagnosed Parkinsons and i note high dose B1 is recommended for PD.Just thought that was an interesting connection re this common drug for Diabetes and depletion of B1 and Parkinsons.Any thoughts?
