Has anyone had nosebleeds with Parkinsons?   I bleed very little but I am not sure if it is related to the disease or its medications  I am currently taking Sinemet, Amantadine and siliguine (probably spelled it wrong )  thank you!

Are you taking other meds?  Blood pressure meds, aspirin, St. John's wort.....  I have not heard of PD causing nose bleeds, you need to discuss with your GP.

I think it's from a sinus infection.   I seem to blame everything on the Parkinsons! )

Hi Hoffman 123.

I had 5 severe blood noses a few mths after my dx.  I think mine was related to dry air from gas heating (during winter).  Now i add water to the heater's tray to humidify the air.  No blood noses after that.

As with most things, we never really know !!!

The extra heat used during the winter months and resultant dry air throughout house proved to be the cause of mine as well. A cheap humidifier in bdrm at night resolved the issue.

I don't have parkinsons but my husband has . I get a very dry nose and if I touch it ,pick it it will bleed heavily "

I remembered that they use to tell you to smear Vaseline inside the nostril . Since doing so I have had no problems . That's is unless I forget to do so

Not heard of nosebleeds as symptoms of PD.

Selegiline - I think.

The veins near the front of the nose are very close to the surface and it doesn't take much to get a nosebleed going. I used to notice when we went back east to visit my mother-in-law in NY, she would have a teacup every so many feet on the radiator. She said she filled them with water to keep the air moist. So I started doing that too although I used much bigger containers. It helped slow down my kids' nosebleeds I think -- except those acquired in the play yard from fly-away balls!

I just took one pill today of Amantadine and had a nose bleed. Have not had a nosebleed in 30 years. Certainly the drug without a doubt and thank you for sharing!
