IS THERE ANY TRUTH TO THIS THOUGHT: MOST VIRUSES ENTER THE BODY THROUGH THE NOSE AND SINUS AND THAT THE MOUTH AND ESOPHAGUS ARE

NOT A PLACE FOR THE VIRUS TO GROW ...SO IT MAY BE BETTER TO WEAR A CLOTHES PIN ON YOUR NOSE

That reminds me of the Little House on the Prairie series - admittedly I've tried a clothespin on my nose when I was younger and I tell you it'll HURT!

You still need to breath oxygen and the virus could land in your lungs. Be sure to stay at least 6 feet away from people who may be symptomatic, per CDC.

Given how contagious the coronavirus is, I'd err on the cautious side given the history of Measles virus.

"measles virus can live for up to two hours in an airspace where the infected person coughed or sneezed " after that person leaves the space.

Try to stay away from gatherings and limit your social distance as much as possible.

WELL IF NOT A CLOTHES PIN THEN HOW ABOUT A SWIMMING NOSE CLIP? WOULD ASO ACT AS A REMINDER NOT TOUCH YOUR FACE

You'd be better off with a mask or a multi layer scarf than any nose pinching device.

See the link below for DIY ideas.

OK NOW I HAVE JUST CHECKED THIS OUT AND MAY BE A VIABLE ALTERNATIVE TO THE CLIP CONCEPT

ITS CALLED FIRST DEFENCE THEY ARE NOSTRIL ADHESIVE COVERS THAT FIT OVER YOUR NOSTRILS AND ALLOW AIR TO PASS THROUGH BUT ACT AS A "SCREEN" TO PREVENT ALLERGENS FROM GETTING INTO YOUR SINUSES MAYBE THEY WOULD BE BETTER THAN A SCARF OR EVEN A MASK

Virus could just as well enter through your mouth

Moist eyes are a magnet for pathogens. Swim goggles work

Nose, mouth and eyes.

I agree the nose clip would be a good reminder to not touch your face!!

OUCH! I don't even like those nose clamps for swimming...

Go and search Covid- 19 on the top line of this page for more details on how it goes: someone sneezes on you or ??? it gets on your hands > to eyes, nose or mouth >sinuses for 1 week or longer then it might slide down your throat to the lungs and now you have pneaumonia

The mucous membranes all over the body are where viruses, yeasts and bacteria will be trapped and moved toward the stomach where digestive acids can kill them. Wash your hands and don't touch your eyes, nose, mouth or ears and you'll do fine.

Surgical masks as worn by a surgeon and nurses is intended to keep water droplets from the wearers mouth and nose from contaminating the patient. They do not stop Bacteria or virus because the holes in the material are too big. The new virus is very very small. The medical people in Canada are trying to get people to stop taking them and wearing them if they do not have the virus so there will be some for the people who the mask can do some good. People who have the virus, wear them to limit spread.

Protection , stay away from other people unless absolutely necessary, stay 6 feet away from every body and wear gloves.

This is the only type of mask that will stop the virus. Howie Mandel wears them but I would not

A while back i read that you can put something like Neopsorin in

your nostrils to ward off virus. I guess that would be too easy...sigh
