Imodium is the only thing that works for me. Adjusting your dose is up to you. I would sometimes have to take several doses before it would slow down.

Hope this helps.

I have lymphocytic colitis which has the same symptoms. Imodium is very helpful, especially if i take it right away. But the next day sometimes I am stopped up. However, lately I learned about the herb slippery elm. I take 2 capsules 3 times a day on an empty stomach. My attacks are much less frequent and less severe. Twice a day was not as effective for me.

I told my doctor and she said, "Oh, yes. Lots of my patients use that." I asked why she didnt tell me about it and she said they like to start with medicines first. This was at the end of my appointment. She had no plans to ever share this with me.

Very interesting, I will look into it.

I’ve been using a Chinese herb called Indigo (Qing Dai)

It was working wonders for me for years. I have an appointment coming up with my gastro and ask if it’s ok to continue using.

Thank you for your input :)

I was put on octasa, 1200mg a day when I was diagnosed with UC 4 years ago. Never looked back, no issues at all. If things feel like they are changing I increase the dose by 400 mg for a couple of days and the issues resolve instantly.

I’ve tired Pentasa, Flagyl, steroids and canasa as well. But nothing work.

I have an appointment coming up next month, and will see what they will want me to try next
