I did a fit test and it came back at 400. Been having bowel issues on and off for a few years now but the last year or so have been the worst. Anyway I was asked to do a calprotectin test for crohns and I’m wondering if I have blood in my stool can it give a false positive?
Thanks x

My gastro says calprotectin are reliable. If your result is around 100 or less then you do not have inflammation but raised from 100 you possibly do so will get further testing. In people without IBD normal calprotectin is 50 or below.
My fit test came back normal my calprotectin came back at 480, colonoscopy didn’t find any IBD but found 1 polyp, had another calprotectin came back at 90 so gastro handed me back to GP
hi did you have a calprotectin test ? I had one this time last year had to repeat it twice first one was 157 second one was 189 I was getting mucus lose bowels with blood urgency to go then it would go in to constipation pain below my rib cage then all my symptoms disappeared for 12 months bowels went back to normal but now it’s returned
So I have to do another calpro test and I’m being re refered to gastro team
My calprotectin went up to 600 and l wasn’t very well. I’ve just had another bad flare up and coming off a high dose of steroids yet again. Best wishes
