hi, I’ve been on Cortiment steroids for approx 4 months now and they are working, but recently I’ve noticed my stomach has been more upset (diarrhoea) and I’m going on holiday soon so feeling a little anxious. . I asked the ibs nurses for advice who basically told me to stop stressing as it will make my symptoms worse!!

I felt shocked and explained UC is a physical disease not a mental issue and anyone who sadly suffers with this will naturally feel anxious about going on holiday especially when the meds may not be working as well.

I start injections soon so hope these work for me.

I just wish I didn’t have UC and could live a normal

Life. Some people don’t realise how lucky they are

The Nurses are correct. Although it is a physical disease, the more you worry about it and the more stress you are under the worse it can be for your condition.

We all wish we did not have it, I have had Crohn's Disease for the last 40 years, 3 operations, waiting for the next, I am 66 now. The sooner you accept it and just get on with living your life to the best of your ability to as a normal live as you can.
