i have just spent four days in hospital and feel rather tired , i am on high doses of steroids for a flare up . I do have vendolizimab infusions every 8 weeks which did appear to be working .
I suppose my question is do i look at changing my diet , which i must admit is pretty poor ... high sugars , gluten , dairy ect
I have had Crohns for some twenty plus years and no one has ever suggested i look into my dietry needs and make channges . the trouble is the whole diet thing is rather scary needing to know i am getting what my body needs without causing further problems .
Any ideas or information on books ect would be useful .
Many thanks

I have ulcerative colitis, not crohns, but I'm on a diet ever since I had a flare up last December and it does help. I suggest you to google Crohns diets on the internet and find one what's suitable for you, I'm sure there are plenty.
My diet is basically pretty simple, I'm avoiding spicy/hot foods, greasy foods as they are harder to digest and any dairy (I'm lactose intolerant). On top of this I'm trying to eat less fiber as they make bowel movements more frequent. I also eat supplements, like vitmins (multi, C, D3, calcium, magnesium etc...) and protein drinks (ensure plus advance) to ensure I'm getting all the nutrients my body needs and not getting due to the restrictive diet.
Try to find a diet that works for you as it can make a big difference for people with IBD.
Many thanks , i have tried over the years with missing varies things out off my diet but i just wondered if maybe i should have a gluten intolerance test just to rule out . my crohns definitely more problematic if i eat wheat ect .
