Hi, what kind of infusion are you going to have? Is it Remicade?
Its infliximab
Ok, so Remicade is the commercial name of Infliximab. My son has did not experience any side effects. We know three people with Chrohns who is on Infliximab for several year and are in remission, one has used it for ten years with excellent results. I believe this drug is considered the go to drug for Chrohn in a top down approach. I wish you all the best of luck and results. The effect should be almost immediately I have been told. The infusions takes a bit of time and I believe you get a tylenol and benadryl before the infusion in case of any pain/allergic reaction, but this is precautionary. The nurses will keep an eye on you all the time and monitor you, so don't worry too much. Let me know how it goes.
Thanks very much for all that info and all sounds very positive. Ah thanks I wont! I just been for bloods to check all ok for Friday 👍 x
I take Inflectra which is a generic or similar to Remicade. My doc just has me take some allergy pill, and 1000 mg of Tylenol before I leave the house to go for my infusion. I take Claritin 24 hour.
