According to google this is what a raised white blood cell count means:
"A high white blood cell count may indicate that the immune system is working to destroy an infection."
It is also a marker of inflammation. Which is what UC is, so the question was if any one else has this experience. Just curious.
My white cell count was persistently high for a couple of years after diagnosis. I was even referred to Haematology to have it investigated, but it did come down gradually with a new drug combination and is ok now. It is a sign of inflammation in UC, as you say.
Hello, that was my experience when I was first diagnosed with Crohn's and it stayed that way for many years. What does your gastroenterologist say about it?
