Blood and mucus

Hello, I am 18 and have been experiencing blood and mucus after a Bowel movement. This has got progressively worse overtime. I now am passing gas a lot which is “wet” that produces blood and yellowish mucus that sometimes turns brown together. I also feel very bloated and tired all the time. I know I am young so is rare to be cancer, the doctor told me it is probably piles but as of these current situations I haven’t been able to have a check. I was prescribed piles ointment but thay didn’t work at all. Wondering if anyone has has similar symptoms and if it’s a form of colitis?

Sounds very like ulcerative colitis, blood and mucus is typical, you need to ask your GP for a referral to a Gastroenterologist asap.

I have ulcerative colitis and it does sound like that to me as well

I’m so sorry to hear that and hope you are okay now. Did you feel pressure down there like lower back? Also we’re your Bowel movements normal or signs of diarrhoea?

I always had a pressure down there. I felt like I was either swollen, so used to sit on ice packs which didht help much . Lower back pain always. Towards the end before hospital, I had this urge to try and push down thinking I had to push more out . I had diarrhea and blood, going loads. Now in hospital . I still have it , but no where as much as steriods calming everything

I got diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in December after 2 years of symptoms which was put down to hemmoroids after child birth. My symptoms were pretty much exactly the same. Hopefully you can get an early diagnosis before it gets too bad x

Hi DLGJ thanks for sharing. Can you pls let me know if your earlier symptoms have any cramps or pains? I only had one day of diarrhea but passing blood and lots of mucus with blood afterwards. I don’t think it’s colitis as people said it is painful and last for many days and months but it only happened in that one day for me. However I did have similar cases for a few times in the last 2 years. So I am thinking for the worst and very stressed at the moment ;(
