Hello, I'm new here. Actually I've been lurking about for several months.
I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in 2005 after many years of undiagnosed gut problems. I'm sure some of you are familiar with that. Diagnosed with Osteoporosis in 2011 after too many years of prednisone use. Unfortunately, this is one of the many nasty side effects I was never warned about. But that's another story.
I just started Stelara on January 11th and am waiting to see if it has any positive effect on my Crohn's. I hate calling it "my Crohn's" but I guess that's what it is after all. I have had two bowel resections. The first one was in 2007 and went very well. The second was in 2015, and was kind of a major fiasco. I guess my main complaints would be the relentless fatigue, and the fact that I am in a daily battle with constipation. There's more, but I won't bore you because you are all mostly dealing with the same stuff.
Okay, enough of the bad stuff. I am married, with a very understanding and supportive wife. Four grown children who sometimes still think I'm Superman (I'm a good actor) but as the years go by, they are getting harder to fool.
I am retired, do a bit of painting (canvas, not walls) and like to spend as much time as I can in the woods, although that time has become less and less the past couple of years. Very nice to meet you all......
