Asacol vs Salofalk foam enema

As many of you who have been using Asacol foam enema know, this product has now been discontinued and as a result my GP prescribed Salofalk instead. However, I'm not sure it does such a good job as the Asacol did.

Does anyone else have a similar experience of these two products?

I've had both kinds and also preferred Asacol. Salofalk stung and was very hard to retain! I'm now on a steroid foam which is a much smaller quantity and easier to manage.

Yes, I too have found that the Salofalk has stung at times. This shouldn't happen since it's supposedly the same product as Asacol, i.e. Mesalazine.

Maybe I need to talk with my IBD nurses about this.
