Starting to accept my problems!

So I've noticed a increase in mucus and blood in my bowel motions. The volume of both mucus and blood became more apparent as I've gotten older and my general health has declined as well as my quality of life..

I have made nurmeous efforts in trying to make my concerns heard to my GP but he appears none concerned.

I've also noticed if I catch an illness I will catch another illness straight after from recovering, so I'm wondering if this could be related to my chronic health issues.

I suffer with gastritis, esophagitis and IBS. I'd be interested to hear what people's opinions on the matter are as I know a lot of people who suffer with IBD have been misdiagnosed with IBS.

I must add I had a sigmoidoscopy that showed no inflammation, but I'm starting to wonder maybe it's a skip lesion of inflammation in the transverse and decending part of the bowel.

Hi, do you suffer with pain, weightloss and altered bowel habit?

you could ask GP to carry out blood tests including inflammatory markers and a faecal calprotectin stool test. If your GP refuses get a second opinion, your well within rights to request this.

Good luck

If you suffer from Chrones apparently its "Normal" but you should still let your Consultant or DR know ,from the discussions I have had with my Consultant Chrones is a clever disease it can camoflage it's self! so sometimes it is harder to detect yet other times its clear as day! I was just let out of Hospital after a "Flare up " of Chrones , I knew I had "Diverticular Disease" but not the Chrones! these are at different end s of the spectrum apparently? one you need a High Fibre diet and the other a Low fibre diet am waiting for more advice from Hospital which I should get tomorrow!

I've heard so many people say their tests showed no inflammation yet they feel very unwell. Blood and mucus are not good signs!!! I had that coming from my stoma and was told it was because I had active Crohn's around that area which wasn't their before. Can you change your doctor? I know it's frustrating when you feel they don't take you seriously and our health is too important not to be listened too. After all we know our own. Oldies better than anyone else.
