I started with diarrhoea 3 weeks ago and abdo pain in my left side, the diarrhoea lasted 2 days and since then I've been constipated. I'm now suffering from bad pain on the right and left side of my abdo, back pain and indigestion type pain where I feel like my throat has something stuck in it. I've had a fit test that negative and I don't have any bacteria either. I've got a gastroenteritis telephone appt next week but 3 weeks on I'm no better. My inflammation levels are extremely high and the doctor said its could be IBD. Any thoughts Thanks

Inflammation levels 1911
It certainly could be. But Gastro will probably need an MRI and Colonoscopy before the can confirm it.
Thanks for the reply. I'm really concerned because my calprotectin levels are 1911 way over what they should be and now I also feel nausea all day every day. Its making me feel exhausted as well. The symptoms are endless 😢
Update had a phone call with a gastrointestinal specialist yesterday and I'm going for a camera up and down on Thursday as he wants to get it sorted ASAP. Really hoping worse case it's IBD. Really struggling with the nausea more than anything atm. My call was at 3pm and by 4pm I got a call booking me in this Thursday didn't anticipate it so quick slightly nervous but I know it needs doing.
You will know more when you have your colonoscopy couldnt reach small bowel when i had mine as i was severly inflamed had to have more tests my calprotectin was 2200 was admitted for iv steroids an then 8 week course predisolone that was 2021 had few more flares since but now on azithioprine an infliximab i have ibs diverticulosis an crohns
Hi hope all is well. Any update on your colonoscopy ? And hopefully you have managed to sort out the high calprotectin. Mine is also very high so any advice would be much appreciated 🙂
My advice is keep pushing your doctor for answers as I've found unless you do this nothing gets done. I've been on this path in total 2 years and mistakes have been made by the health system but also I've not pushed it enough. My advice also is try and keep your stress levels as low as possible as I've found stress just make things worse.
Hi Guys quick update. I had colonoscopy and all was clear but yesterday I got my biopsy results back which I waited 4 months for and 4 of them were fine but one of them showed signs of chronic inflammation so I've been asked to do another stool test to check my calprotectin levels. My doctor has said atm it's very likely I have IBD but still can't give me a 100% yet. What's not great is that I in the middle of another flare up which started 2 weeks ago where I ended up in urgent care. I'm now off work as I'm in pain but tye worse thing is I'm aching all over and feel extremely tired as my body feels like it's fighting something. The doctor has checked for infection and no infection found so it's definitely sounding like IDB.
