Well that hasn't happened before...

First time out since Thursday as I have been recovering from a cold and I was a little bit anxious about going out there. It was the longest run yet (25 min) and I was afraid I was going to set myself up to fail.

Despite this I went out anyway and it wasn't that bad! I struggled at the halfway mark with a really bad stitch and I was so tempted to stop but I didn't as the stitch eventually disappeared.

In the last 60 seconds I did as Laura suggested and picked up the pace - that was my mistake. I finished the run all happy and joyful until I started feeling really faint.

I suddenly felt really sick and and light headed and had to sit down, on the pavement, for 5 minutes until I felt alright to walk back!

I think it was a mix of recovering from of a cold, not being on a run for 5 days and suddenly doing 25 minutes and sprinting the last part and not having enough food before I went out.

I know next time to eat and drink enough before I go out and not to push myself!

My Endomondo says I ran 3.3 km which isn't awful but compared to my 20 min run it's definitely slower. Oh well I have week 7 to improve my distance!

Happy running!

Well done for finishing the run. :-) Sorry to hear you felt faint and sick at the end of it though, but you still did it. :-)

I did the 28 minute run the yesterday and I did feel a bit sick just before the end, but managed to get past it thank goodness. I usually eat a banana and have a glass of water about 40 minutes before I go and I think I ate it too soon before I went out last time. Or it could have just been the extra push I had to give.

Good luck for week 7. :-) And remember there is no rush, speed will come later!

Enormous effort after feeling grotty with a cold. Well done! Now eat and drink properly and rest to make sure you are really ready for W7. Lots of luck ;) Linda x

Dare I say it? Slow and steady (Greenleg's mantra). :-) Rest up before attempting the next run.

Well done for completing the run, maybe it was a bit too much for you, considering that you were not well. Give yourself a good rest before you do the other runs. I have experience in running with empty tum, we should never do it, it does not make anything easier. Now..I am promoting Bananas! And try a Yogurt if that is better for you..and slow and steady as con-brio (and greenleg!) says, that IS the secret! You can always speed up later on, but completing the run is such a great feeling, isn't it?
