After doing W6R3 on Saturday, on Sunday and today I have sore muscles where my abdomen joins onto my ribs - sorry for the technical language This is a little bit unexpected, am I doing something weird? All my other muscle aches are perfectly logical and in my legs

Funny muscles to be hurting

Have you recently increase your running intensity? Have you added in a different form of exercise? I really have no advice to offer but wanted to jump in and say I hope you feel better soon!!! Gayle

Have you been doing any other type of excercise like sit ups as that might explain the pain.
The other thing is are you relaxed when you jog? Check your not tense or crunched over.
Nope - only doing running and walking last week. It was my first 25 minute run and I did do a sprinty thing for the last 60 secs - perhaps I was pumping my arms more that usual?
It's not really a problem, I'm sure it'll go in a couple of days - or get worse after W7R1 tomorrow

It a very odd place to feel muscle pain especially when you haven't been doing crunches etc, have you lifted anything heavy perhaps the wrong way, i.e. child, shopping? I would see how you feel in another day or two and if its still not right perhaps a quick visit to the doctors. Take care.

I got that the other day after a particularly gruelling interval session. It eased after a day or so. I guess we must twist a little when pumping our arms? (Do you reckon it looks odd to the casual observer? )
I get similar but in my back. I think it is because i have weak core muscles and I have only started getting it with the longer runs too, in fact the first time was week 5 run 3! I definitely twist a bit as I have feet problems which means I run different on one foot to the other. I was thinking of doing some pilates to strengthen my core? (though now I am up the duff I probably need a pregnancy pilates DVD!)

Could it be your diaphragm? It is a muscle after all and if you were breathing really heavily and deeply it will have had a workout as well. If you can feel it when you breathe in really deeply then that might be it!
