Well that doesn't make sense...

Just completed my w6r1 run and I'm a bit confused... This run seemed to be a lot tougher than my 20 minute run! I think it may be because I got a bit cocky and was running faster, or maybe because of the stops and starts tire me out? I'm not sure, still a good run though but I'm looking forward to leaving the intervals behind me and just doing straight runs :D

Hope everyone's having a great Easter, happy running!

I think we all fell into that trap of expecting it to be easier than the 20 minute run. Hahaha.

Well done on completing it though. :-)

If you check the tags for this run you will see that a lot of us struggled with it so you are definitely not alone! Well done for getting through it though and enjoy your next run :)

Happy Easter!

Yes I agree well done for getting through it as Sue says many find this run one of the harder ones. I found I had to start slower once I was on the longer (no breaks for walking) runs. That helped me to maintain my strength and get to the end. Going too fast too soon will result in you running out of steam. If you have a bit more to give nearing the end thats when you can speed up which will feel wonderful. Good luck, you'll soon be finished and well done.

I remember I tried running a bit faster for the first part of that run. Then when Laura came on during the walking bit she said something about keeping the pace slow even though you might be tempted to run faster. Would have been nice if she'd mentioned that at the beginning of the first part. :p

Aha - but TX, if you'd read all those w6r1 blogs... :P

Don't worry R4ch, it's a mind-game that Laura plays with us! Rather a tough one, but pacing can make all the difference in the later weeks, and after graduation. Slow and steady!

Ahhhh thanks.... I've been feeling really disheartened, from the high of the twenty min run, to struggling with runs 1 and 2 of week six, and tomorrow is twenty five mins! What a roller coaster this little ride is ... Good to know I am along with many others in what I am experiencing, thanks...

I really didn't like week 6 run 1 at all, it was possibly my least favourite so far. I did change my route though, as the dreaded w5r3 was easier than expected I thought w6r1 would be no bother so I decided to do a hillier route. Silly me! Run 2 was slightly better but I was dreading the 25 min run. It was fine, best one this week anyway :-) I think I'm OK with leaving the walking breaks behind but the beginning of this week did knock my confidence quite a bit, I am pleased it's not just me who struggled with this week.
