Wife didn't even need training wheels to keep the bike upright with my lack of speed.

I did W5R3, I kept going for 20 minutes and got all round the lake (2.3177 km to be exact).

Before C25K this was a tiring and long walk when it included the 712 meters from front door to lake and back! Doesn't google maps and running apps make it all so precise.

I actually wanted to go out and crack this run today despite my pre running brain making all the excuses under the sun (I'm so tired, had such a busy day, going out tonight, blah blah whine whine) I said to the old self shut the **ck up and get the running kit on. After these past 5 weeks (plus the 2 week pretraining) I knew that I would feel good after it and enjoy the Malteezers at the movies all the more.

Lovely wife offered to come on the bike for moral support. I thought well I am soooo slow (see past blog re son's realisations!) that I expected her to need some sort of stabilization to cycle that slow.

Well I am glad to say she stayed upright and the lake circuit seems to have shrunk! What was a long tiring walk is now a 20 min jog (well maybe joggle). I have confidence that I can crack this program and that my goal of being able to run around the lake, that seemed so not possible a month ago, has already increased to run twice around the lake in about 30 mins.

To all those that are heading towards the dreaded W5R3 it is not bad, it fact it is really good and the rush after was worth it...

Love the image of the stabilisers. :-)

Well done! Setting yourself a new personal target is a good motivational trick.
