This is my first blog post after starting C25K just over two weeks ago. I can't believe how much I've changed since it began. I've become obsessed with running, reading about running, have bought new trainers, leggings, lightweight waterproof coat.... but most of all I feel a real mental shift. I have a dodgy knee which for years made me think I couldn't do this, and tbh I've never been a runner - now with the programme, taking it all slowly, I feel it's possible. As my heading said, I came down with a temperature and cold yesterday which was supposed to be W3R3 day, so it will take a little bit longer now, but I'm just dying to get out there again once I feel better. I started this in memory of a colleague of mine who very sadly died of a rare and aggressive cancer last summer aged just 32. I've signed up for the Race for Life as part of a group involving friends, colleagues and family in his name, but I honestly feel like he has metaphorically reached out and done something for me rather than the other way round. I'm now also thinking of signing up for the 5x50 as it ends on the same day as the race, May 19.
Wk 2 - illness has stopped me from completing ... - Couch to 5K
Wk 2 - illness has stopped me from completing it. Boo hoo.
I'm sorry to hear that illness has stopped you in your tracks, but you'll get back to it, I know. It's so great to hear how inspired you are! Take it slowly and you'll be in that Race for Life, no doubt. All the best with it
Seems. you've caught 2 bugs; a running bug and and an illness bug! Let's hope you quickly shake off the second whilst keeping the first for life. Your continuing commitment is a great tribute to your lost colleague. Be lucky
Don't worry, Tati, the programme will still be here when you're feeling better. Take this time to rest up and read the blogs and plan your 5x50 challenge! Do you know we've got a team? Why don't you sign up and join us? Hope you feel better soon!
What a lovely blog. Hope you achieve all your ambitions and keep thinking of your friend egging you on!
