Wide fit shoes

I live over 100 miles from specialist sports shop, but need a seriously wide fitting shoe. When I say wide, I mean wide - size 7EEEEEE or 7EEEEEEEE. The widest I've found online so far would be 7EE. Any suggestions on how I can run safely without damaging my feet and without proper running shoes? PS I'm quite old too!

Hmmm. had a quick check around and it seems you might have to go to US sites for anything over EEE I'm afraid. Even the e-bay listings seem to be from the USA. Have you tried posting on Runner's World or one of the other running websites? They may know more.

Sorry I can't offer more help.

I have wide feet, I can't remember how wide - it's been years since I've been to Clarks, but I remember the fitter commenting on it! I have a regular pair of New Balance shoes and find them very comfortable so no need to get a wide fit for me, but they do make wide fit also so they might be worth trying.

I would recommend looking for a pair that have a lot of mesh or soft material around the widest part of your foot rather than leather so you will get the least amount of rubbing and shoe will have a bit more give.

Not what you're looking for?
