After straining my quad on Friday looks like grad week is on hold. I'm foam rollering (big help) and stretching. I can't put any weight on it and after walking up and down stairs one at a time, have realised that I'm literally out of the running for a little while. I think it happened a few weeks ago, when I must have twisted awkwardly avoiding ice and it hasn't been right since. I went out last night to the local and felt like I was about 90, hobbling around, had one drink and came home. Made me think though how lucky I am when I can run and will do till I am 70 or 90?!!

These set backs make me even more determined to keep at it, I love a challenge...and Spring is on the way.

;)

What a bummer, runningwild. :( Still, you've got the right attitude, you will get back out there, and yes, spring is indeed on its way. Snowdrops and irises are flowering in my garden, and the frogs are back in our pond! :)

Ha - just imagine us all running when we're 90! He he!

Ha, I wonder what shoes we will be wearing then and running gear?

Oh no; you really do have more than your fair share of injuries Susie don't you?! :'( Sorry to hear it's still painful but glad you have the roller now to help you. You really are one determined lady! ;)

Thanks Sue, those rollers are evil, but work wonders. It looks so innocent, oh bit of blue cylindrical foam, what's that going to do!!! Leg feels better today and I'd say it's mainly down to the roller.

I can just imagine little evil gremlin eyes peeking out of the rollers! Grrrr!

Good grief I'm going to have nightmares about a foam roller chasing me!! Funny you should mention the eyes...

Sorry to hear you're 'taking a break' (as I like to call it) from running for a while. You definitely have the right attitude though and these set backs just make us more determined don't they? Keep on rollering!
