I've been playing around with playlists myself for if I venture off curriculum from Laura... For me, Stronger by Kelly Clarkson is quite a good motivator, in general Eye of the Tiger always gets into the mix somewhere because of Rocky. I guess a lot really depends on your taste in music as what would really motivate some people would drive others to despair :-) have a listen to some of your favourite songs and see if you can imagine yourself running to them. I'll be following this with interest for further inspiration.

I went on itunes and found 101 Running Songs! They are all good, so I have made a few running playlists of about 12 songs each to give me some variety. So 101 songs will keep me going for sometime.

Stronger by Kanye West " work it harder, make it better, do it faster, makes us stronger.."

Say's it all!

thanks for ideas guys i will add these to the playlist- did a bit of research Beth5 and apparantly running to anything with over 145 BPM is good for running, so ive added Cee Lo Greens Forget you, Born this way Lady Gaga Harder to breathe by Maroon 5 and Billionaire Trave Mccoy to the playlist and im not sure if its in my mind but totally worked! managed to increase my speed on the runs! I had to download an app on my phone 'cuz i cant get Laura on my phone for some reason- with this app your music plays behind the advice and trainer telling you to run and walk. (have to admit i miss Laura but music was abit boring on the longer runs so its all good) any futher track suggestions welcomed! I cant fall off the wagon this time! S x

Sounds like a great playlist, I need to check the ones I picked for the BPM values, but as my running is quite slow I think I can take a bit of time before increasing the pace as need to get to grips with more than 90 seconds of running! Looking forward to hearing how you get on.

I like 1980s classic rock stuff and some 80s cheesy pop to run to.

If you go to jog.fm/ and enter your current running pace (min/km or min/mile) you then get a suggested playlist for songs with the beat per min that fits with your pace.

At the speed I run, I think Acker Bilk's 'Stranger on the Shore' should be fine!
