As the single most lazy person I know it has amazed me how easy it has been to follow this plan and enthusiastic I have become. I did not plan on running, just cutting out he ciggies and wine in the new year as well as loosing a few pounds. I friend mentioned that she was following the plan and I decided to take a look.
On the third of January I struggled to walk for 35 minutes yet today I ran for a total of 16! I pronate (have flat feet) and my knees had started to hurt. I spoke to my mum who is a physio who recommended a pair of new shoes with good arch support and rigid back. I managed to buy a perfect pair that had sixty percent off so I am very happy.
What surprises me most is that my treat for giving up the bad stuff was supposed to be something luxurious not a pair of running shoes!

New trainers rock!!! You will find yourself like a kid in a candy store...first trainers, then running gadgets...then on to running gear! On a good note, you will be treating yourself with nice pressies from the money that use to go to cigarettes and wine! Congratulations and wishing you continued success! Gayle
Ha - I celebrated my second run of week 4 by buying some new trainers yesterday. I can't afford super-duper running shoes yet but plan on treating myself to some 'proper' ones when I graduate from C25K.
As I jog at the speed of most people walking I feel these will be okay for now and they are Skechers Sport ones (on special offer) just not fitted to my gait.
