I started week 4 feeling more comfortable as I bought some running socks which really do make running easier. I've also started doing some light stretches at night just before bed but they're not really making any difference which makes me think I'm probably doing them wrong. This week I decided to leave the rest days in between but I found doing that a real struggle so we'll see how things go.
Week 5 run 1 was my favourite and most enjoyable run yet and I hope that the next two runs have a similar feeling on me.
It's getting colder up here in Scotland but at least we aren't getting any snow (yet).

I'd agree with Fingalo. It can be very tempting to go out every day, but a far better idea to find an alternative cross-training activity (walking, cycling, swimming etc) - you know now how much you'd miss it if you have to stop for injury.
You're doing brilliantly - don't go and spoil it now! For run 3 of week 5, it really is worth being rested the day before. Carry on enjoying it all. (And I think I need to go and look for better socks!)
Well done. I agree rest days are essential to help prevent injuries longer term. Are you stretching after your runs? Most physios suggest you spend as much time as possible stretching whilst muscles are warm, and if you google stretching and running then you should find videos and advice on best techiques.
