Hi all -

I just tried to update my profile here. I entered some words but had problems with the photo. I clicked on upload and browse ok, and selected the least ugly photo on the computer, but then nothing happened. Has anyone else had any problems with this? Any helpful ideas?

Thanks!

I haven't tried this, but I wonder whether there's a size limit for the photos? I know I've had to edit things smaller (or less kbs) for other sites.

Good point - it does say 2MB and I hadn't checked but mine's only 168KB so that shouldn't be the problem. Thanks for answering though - think the first plan will be to wait a day or two and try again.

I had exactly the same problem. Wonder if there is something wrong with the system. I've ended up with a strange, but unique, blue square!

Having tried again, I'm wondering if you need to expand the square when it says "crop and save" - is the blue square a tiny part of the photo you were using?

Good luck!

Me too! My square's sort of bordeaux couch-cover colour!

That is indeed a unique blue square :-) I didn't even get that far though! I'm going to start by waiting a while and trying again - if you had problems as well maybe there's something wrong with the system. Thanks!

I had wondered about your blue square. Very stylish!

I am now tempted to find a picture and try it out... Perhaps it has a limit of pixels as well as MB (can't be bothered to think hard enough to decide whether they are actually different - I really ought to know!)

Ha ha ha! Looky look! It gave me the 'oh snap' something's gone wrong message - but... ta da! Green legs. My artistic skills on paint are a bit limited!

Is this the second version of green legs? I thought you had static ones when I looked earlier. Love these! Maybe I'll have to start playing with Paint!

Yes - I did do an earlier one, but didn't like the pink trainers! It was great fun playing.

You do need to expand that little box where it says crop and save, otherwise I'd have got just the cream colour from the bottom right corner.

Ha!

I spotted the earlier version and when I saw this one I thought you were going for a (very) delayed animated effect, as you keep saying you run quite slowly....

:D (does that produce a big grin?)

On another site when I've tried to upload a picture and it has been failed because the picture was too large, I had to rename the new (reduced-size picture before it would work.

Well - as you can see I'm here now! This morning the file selector did work, so I think there was a problem yesterday. The "crop and save" is a bit strange but I got there in the end. Now got to find a way or wasting a few more minutes on a rainy day :-)

Happy Saturday all!

Anne, this is good news. I am now struck with a boring grey square. You were right it's just picking up a tiny square of each photo I am tryng. I get as far as crop and save then can't get the dotty square thing to move across the photo and don't know how to get the picture cropped.

I think I am the wrong generation. I need a small child to do it for me!

Will keep trying.

Hi Norni,

In the absence of a small child, have you tried making the dotty square thing bigger by dragging one of the corner dots? found that eventually I could get the picture in the square to be about what I wanted and then pressed the crop and save button.

Look forward to seeing your next coloured square - maybe even with a picture in it!

It would be easier if the crop and save defaulted to the whole thing, instead of a tiny corner! Click and drag the top left dotty corner diagonally up and left until you've got the whole picture in the box.

What colour will Norni be next?!

Not what you're looking for?
