Glad your knees are playing their part and behaving! I do admire you doing all this indoors. I've been enjoying finding different places to run - don't think I'd like always being in the same place. Though maybe not being in the dark and the cold has its good side!

Hi

I have started the C25K for the 2nd time and have managed to get to W6R3 and failed. I too have a bad knee at the moment and was about to give up but after reading your blog the other day I thought I would give the xtrainer ago. I'm glad to say it worked, my knee didnot hurt after using the xtrainer. Thanks for the idea.

My question is....does anyone think it's cheating or is it ok still following the programme?

I dont think of it as cheating . I think of it as saving my knees so I can chase after my grandaughter (when she gets bigger) shes only 25 days old. Im 48 but i dont want to risk doing serious injury to my knees so that i cant do that. Im sticking with the x trainer. I hope you feel better about using it now.x

Why would it be cheating? If you are getting fitter than you can outside, surely that's what matters?

I run really slowly, but I don't see it as cheating, just sensible pacing, because if I ran faster, I'm sure I'd have given up by now and/or got injured. It's a fitness programme, not a competition - Flart and Dush are runners too! Keep on running, and when/if your knees will let you, come back to the wonderful outdoors. But don't run down (!) what you are doing, it's impressive.

And if anyone suggests it's cheating, offer to break their knees for them!

Hi greenlegs, that made me laugh...break their legs.

I do feel better now, thank you both. I too run very slowly but like you say it's running all the same.
