Ho, ho, ho, its almost time to hang up our stockings, get out the port and mince pies for Santa and tuck into turkey like there will be no tomorrow.
But this world that we live in is not always a nice place so I ask you all to join with me and take a few minutes to stop and say a prayer for those poor families in the USA who have just lost their beloved children in the most violent unnecessary way. Add to your prayer the starving children throughout the world who don't have a bed to sleep in or food on a plate. This year my hubby and I cut back on christmas cards a little but donated to Save the Children, its only a little but as they say every little helps.
I wish you all a wonderful Christmas and new year, keep up the jogging/running as I am, albeit a treadmill these past few weeks.
I didn't complete my goal by running up Jacobs Ladder but hey ho it will still be there next year so will have to set a new years resolution to make sure I do it in 2013!
Best regards to you all

I have already started on the Christmas sherry! But totally agree with your sentiments, Liz. We can all make a little difference in these both happy/sad times.
Happy Christmas and Merry New Year to you and yours, Liz and to all the Couch to 5K-ers!
I stopped sending christmas cards about 5 years ago and gave the money to charity instead and didn't use resources doing so! Funny thing is, we don't get any less ;-).
It's easy at this time of year to get fixated on 'getting' stuff and thinking that one day is going to make a difference - when really it's the other 364 that do. Christmas means nothing to the majority of the world's population and there are many, many people for whom christmas is is a miserable time. Wouldn't it be lovely if every family that celebrated Christmas made a meaningful gesture to the have-nots?
Sorry, I'll get off me soap-box now and just say - I wish everyone what they wish themselves!
I'll take the love Viv, not bothered about the tinsel and sherry. You have a good one too and I endorse what you have said, Christmas has lost its true meaning of Christmas a long time ago.
Happy Christmas and very best wishes for the New Year!
I have mixed feelings about sending Xmas cards, I know for some they take joy in receiving them. So maybe if we remember to buy from charity and not line the pockets of the supermarkets, for instance. But that's another soap box!
I agree we should turn our thoughts and prayers to those who are suffering right now. Words can't describe... And all others who are not as fortunate as we are.
