I did Run 3 of Week 7 this morning. In the first few weeks of the programme I found it took a couple of days for my legs to recover but now my legs don't ache and I have been able to keep up with the programme. I ran week 7 using alternative podcasts for C25K from Carli. runningintoshape.com/5k-tra...
Still not quite my my music but a change from Laura and her music. Has anyone got podcasts with either Classical or Scottish folk music?
I don't have podcasts with any classical or Scottish music - but glad to hear that you're able to mix it up and are enjoying it so much. It's amazing, isn't it, how quickly the body adapts and strengthens.
I'd love to know how you manage to get rid of the aching legs. My legs are always somewhat leaden for the first 5 minutes. After that they seem to improve and just stay at the same level of discomfort until I complete the run. I've just completed the last run of week 7 today but it doesn't seem to get any easier.
When I started C25K i used both Ibuprophen Gel and Deep Heat on my knees and that seemed to help. I am now just using Deep Heat before I run.
Welcome to W8, angust!!! I was much like you and noticed that as my body adapted to running the aches and pains subsided...a bit!! You are doing great!!
