The NHS Couch to 5K plan uses audio podcasts, rather than an app. See this page (green box, right side): nhs.uk/LiveWell/c25k/Pages/...
If you want to use an app instead of the podcasts, I use this one: c25kfree.com
I believe it's a week shorter than the podcasts though.

I had so many problems downloading the podcasts to my iphone, I gave up on them. I use the get running app which follows the same programme as NHS couch to 5K and also gives you encouragement and prompts along the way.

the nhs c25k podcasts are available via itunes for free which is the easiest way to get them on to an apple product imho
