Since I've been jogging regularly I've found myself feeling hungrier in the evenings which has meant I've not lost any weight. I've got a weakness for bread so I tend to load up on that afterwards as it fills me up but it's not doing me much good. Anyone got advice on how to quash a post-run appetite?

Perhaps lots of water? It should stave off hunger pangs and you are likely to need it anyway after a run!

Water, then hot drinking chocolate and a banana does it for me, pretty healthy too.

I recall when I joined this forum in August, there was a lot of talk of the joys of post run chocolate milk! That could be an idea!

This is true! I find the soya milk choc one is good and a banana.

I love bread too but now restrict myself to eating whole meal (maybe one slice a day). I found eating a bit of protein such as cheese or nuts with a banana or apple helps to keep me feeling full. It's really helped me lose weight as I don't feel so hungry at meal times and therefore can cut my portion size. Good luck! :)

Thanks guys, I'll try having post-run fruit instead of pre-run. Not sure it will stop my bread addiction but we will see!

Why not try a big bowl of vegetable chilli - it'll fill you up, give you lots of nutrients that will stop other cravings, has relatively few calories and it tastes fab!
